Love the HSV VT CLUBSPORT! I have a Vt Clubsport series 1 5l. Build 1692 18th may 1999. 5 speed manual and factory sunroof. This car is one of the last series 1. Very close to the end of production.

@@andy2906 are you like a delusional clown or something . this car was made in 98 and 195 kws, especially the torque figure 430 was considered a lot of power for a fully australian made car and engine. So you considered a ford engines was the bugatti veyron of 98 Probably dont realise that the famous NA barra thing in the FGs has the same amount of power as these 5 litre engines, and these 5.0 liters were built 30 years before them lmao

My 1998 AMG E55 is a NA 5.4l V8 and makes 260kW stock (and still does with almost 300,000 km on the clock) is electronically limited at 250kmh but will do over 300kmh no problems, an easy second faster to 100kmh and is way quieter - it just pisses on this in every possible way. And shortly after when finally Holden got close to catching up, with an imported LS1 engine, Mercedes blew them away again by the stock E55 model being delivered with a supercharged 350kW V8, easily pushed out well past 400kW just by changing the supercharger pulley alone. Fast forward to today, equivalent second hand AMGs can be found cheaper, in better condition and still pissing on Holdens. It is incredibly difficult to beat German engineering, you have to hand it to them.

As a former owner of a VX Clubsport a long time ago and 6 years into owning a W205 C250 that's pretty much as quick and likewise I'm a German car owner and fan However 0-100 pissing contests are so immature and childish and respect should be given just how well this Aussie car icon has-been looked after and what it meant for Australia and it's former car industry I think it's a great car even today and it's speed or lack thereof is irrelevant to many, I respect it even when I'm buying a Porsche Macan this year for my daily drive For me respect where credit is due and completely disagree with your dribble

People who aren't interested in German manufactured cars don't care about them. If you do, that's good for you. Nobody really asked your opinion on them so aside from inflating your own ego, why are you talking about it? The whole point of owning an Australian car is because it's Australian made. It's almost cultural heritage at this point. It's the same as a German being proud to own a German car. My EF Fairmont has been all over Australia and went from 180k to 310k in under less than 10 years and hasn't broken down once for any reason. It's a 5.0L V8 and service costs are very cheap, as are parts. It's also greatly appreciated. So what's your point?

In all honesty , good luck to you if you have an amg built in 1894 and it still works and is faster than Ferraris made in that time . Good luck to you and hope it lasts This video is about Australian built fully , history and how it’s lasted and still looks new 25/26 years later . Go and enjoy your 1956 amg or whatever is is as much as you like . Cheers
