Australian Aboriginal Didgeridoo Music
Музыка
Australian Aboriginal music includes the music of Aboriginal Australians and social, cultural and ceremonial observances of these people, down through the millennia of their individual and collective histories to the present day, and has existed for 40,000 years. The traditional forms include many aspects of performance and musical instrumentation which are unique to particular regions or Indigenous Australian groups. A didgeridoo is a type of musical instrument that, according to western musicological classification, falls into the category of aerophone. It is one of the oldest instruments to date. It consists of a long tube, without finger holes, through which the player blows. It is sometimes fitted with a mouthpiece of beeswax. Didgeridoos are traditionally made of eucalyptus, but contemporary materials such as PVC piping are used. In traditional situations it is played only by men, usually as an accompaniment to ceremonial or recreational singing, or, much more rarely, as a solo instrument. Although traditionally the instrument was not widespread around the country - it was only used by Aboriginal groups in the most northerly areas - today it is commonly considered the national instrument of the Australian Aborigines and is world-renowned as a unique and iconic instrument.
Traditional Music Channel is for everyone who has a passion for music.
Music is an expression of human creativity. UNESCO reports that among all the performing arts, music is the most universal and is found in every society, most often as an integral part of other performing art forms and other domains of intangible cultural heritage.
Traditional forms of music are considered carriers of cultural heritage because they represent expressions and traditions transferred through generations of a community.
With recordings from more than hundred nations our collection of traditional music offers a staggering diversity of our humanity.

The song at 5:08 put me into a trance. The didgeridoo in the background felt like it was the hum of the Earth and the animal sounds were the life that exists on Earth. Indigenous music is deeply rooted in the Earth and the universe itself. Something wells up when we listen and it's undeniably a part of us and a part of nature simultaneously.

I very much think you are not considering these things.

I remember as a kid, a guy came to my elementary school with a didgeridoo and played for us. It was interesting because he talked about a technique that was used to play the instruments, where you would non-stop breathe out by simultaneously breathing in your nose while breathing out of the mouth... It is still hard to really imagine how to do it, but I guess it's something you must really train a lot for.

Circular breathing. Really hard. Continuously blowing air out your mouth using your cheeks while breathing in your nose. It's tough because using your cheeks to blow air out isn't as effective as blowing out using your lungs. I've tried when I played the trumpet. It takes practice.
You can hear the inhaling of breathes whilst hes playing it thats crazy
There are no words to describe the haunting beauty of these sounds.
I Bought my Didgeridoo in Byron Bay NSW in 2007, and I currently play this December 2017 in the Midwest. I brought my instrument home over 7000 miles and it is my only connection back to the paradise of Australia.

Couple decades ago I was doing a consulting project in Bath, England . Had a late lunch at a great cafe just off an important open "square" gathering place. Walked out of cafe and heard this unusual sound. Walked toward square where many dozens were gathered around something. Sound stopped and people left. There was a young white guy with this long tube stick. He was 24 from AU and just move to UK. Learned to play from Native Aboriginal People. Bought his tape and listened to it regularly for two decades. Finally it fell apart which made me sad. Perfect meditation vibrations.

The digeredoo talks, like all music, without words, perhaps a couple of bird calls, I love to hear it.
Shhh... Do you hear that? Come on! This way! *Gasp* shhhhh. It's the wild Aussie... they appear to be making their mating call... This is a sight to remember, I'm tellin ya.

Today I was having bad anxiety and was going through singing bowls/ xxx frequency music/ mantra.. Then ran into this: OFCOURSE! Digeridoo!! Instant smile, instant tears of relief.. Especially when I started "silly dancing" to it.. BIG HEALING properties.. Thanks so much for the music
These are the best didjeridoo tracks I ever listened to. So beasty, so animal, intense and spiritual... Thanks.

I'm a Queenslander, and i love this music! It's so good and relaxing!
currently visiting australia and i went with my girlfriend on this really fantastic tour at this cultural center in Rockhamoton and on the tour the guide played the didgeridoo and it is just a completely different experience in person you really feel it in your body and all around you and for the couple minutes he played it it was just incredible i was in a trance it’s just an amazing instrument
@makintosh2458

also he the guide explained to us how there are specific songs that are played but there isn’t sheet music or tab like with a “normal” instrument it’s just oral tradition which i think is just so fascinating. i wonder how different the songs would be if we were to go back in time and listen to the songs when they were first created.
The digeridoo was used to lure the reptillians from hiding and that rock that it shows is where the battle took place. That is why people are not aloud to excavate that area.

Really? Im shocked because I use this kind of music to relax when im anxious and angry ( having ptsd it helps me with my flashbacks) I used to laugh saying it must be that it relaxes the reptilian part of my brain. Could it be possible that the sound waves of didjgeridoo could have healing or soothing effect especially to extreme stress of rage ? Music is really medicine for the soul .

The fact that a (very talented) human being plus a wooden tube can produce such a 'scifi-esque' sound is just amazing!
I was driving through Paia on Maui and something made me jam my brakes. A strange vibration in my bones! I got out of my truck and investigated. I found 2 guys sitting on the sidewalk blowing into.....you know what. I was floored! I absolutely love it. I think Australian indigenous people are magic.

It's amazing in every way when you think of the country or the people there, because many of us outside Australia don't get their social and cultural impacts they shared. It's also amazing that when we think of Australia, we think of the Aborigines who settled there for many thousands of years. They showed it all, especially the history, culture, the way they live, and of course, the music we are listening to.

Makes me sad thinking of that, for example, music of Aztecs didn't survive to present day, while there are images of people dancing and reading poetry left by them.

Chester Harde indeed, sometimes I wonder if all native people used chants with instruments made of organic material and hallucinogens to some how reach a higher state of consciousness? but who will ever know
@zeph6439
7 жыл бұрын
All the evidence suggests that you are correct. However a higher state of consciousness can be achieved by various means, and not only by the use of plants and herbs. It depends on the individual Shaman and the cultural context. Shamanism is probably one of if not the oldest form of indigenous spirituality - bearing in mind that we are all indigenous/native to somewhere or other.
@felixheymann8181

Playing the Yidaki alone sets you into a higher state of conciousness after a while. The combination of the basic drone together with the circular breathing (which may sometimes end up being a constant hyperventilation depending on the rhythms played on the instrument) has already a hallucinogenic effect. I do not even want to think about what happens when you combine this with mind extending substances.

Sean Charles Is there any explanation to this? I've always knew what a dij is but never cared too much about it until I heard the sounds it makes. I've fell in love with it ever since and I can't stop listening to it. It's the only musical instrument that helps me meditate, even more than drums. It just sounds so natural to listen to this while meditating. I know that to each it's own but I feel that I'm not the only one who thinks like that.
