the green-layered cake you ate during the second flight is made of something that we called pandan (sweet screwpine) leaf, a common ingredient in southeast asia's food & desserts. it's commonly known as something like asian-vanilla because of the sweet smell.

Those tiny red things weren’t apricots but red currants, 레드커런트. Native to where I’m from, and often added to fruit salads. They play well with sweeter fruits.

The small red berries, they should be redcurrant. I enjoy them as jam or juice. Just like that it's too sour for me. In my country, redcurrant jam is used in Linzer Torte or Linzer cookies.

When I studied in Korea for one semester, I was so shocked that everything opened so late and stayed open until 10pm or midnight 😆 Also the brie you bought is ash brie! lt's not the same as charcoal (I think "ash" in Korean would be 재 but I'm not sure). I think usually its made from burnt vegetables that are ground up. They say that the ash gives it a smoky and nutty flavour compared to normal brie but I don't taste much difference. Mostly it is for the visuals (but maybe not the best for your pasta haha)! By the way, at some zoos here they allow you to pet the quokkas! Maybe you can try if you come back :)))
