Featured species:
0:08 Egyptian goose (non-native)
0:12 Fox squirrel (I think)
0:40 Bald cypress (generally a sign of suitable alligator habitat)
1:28 Painted turtle and/or Red-eared slider (I think)
1:38 Texas live oak (or "Southern live oak - found across the South)
3:02 Great-tailed grackle (common in the warmer parts of the Southwest)
3:29 mystery bird - dark one
3:45 Snowy egret (once uncommon)
4:04 more Bald cypress
5:08 Diamondback water snake (native to Lower MS River Valley and Southern Plains)
6:04 more turtles
6:33 prickly pear (nice to see)
6:53 more live oak
Fun Fact: Contrary to popular belief, everything is NOT always bigger in Texas. For example, the squirrels in Texas are much smaller compared to the squirrels in Minnesota. Same of the whitetail deer.
I would like to learn more about El Camino Real de los Tejas.
