Unfortunately you fell victim to the show itself. Just like Doctor Who- the people playing the central characters can be replaced. With Doctor Who, it's a simple regeneration. With Power Rangers, its passing on the powers. When you produce a show where anyone can play a central character- you (as an individual actor)- become less valuable to the company making the show. Main example: you left in the 1990's and yet the success of Power Rangers with all its seasons has continued 20+ years later from when you left. Unfortunately you are not of a singular commodity. Amy, Jason and David knew this. Hense why they stayed. The show made you famous, you did not make the show famous. In fact to begin with, it was Jason David Frank that pulled the viewers into the franchise and kept them there. His appearance as the green ranger and then white ranger catapulted that show to another level. If anyone was a star of that snow- it was JDF. What a LEGEND and yet humbled by it. RIP💙

@@Sam-zu5mr Me too. Although I offer my contractor services to shops and stores as well. It's much easier than running the business myself. I worked as an installer at a carpet outlet on and off for years. Some customers even asked for me by name. I moved my residency closer to the shop to make my commute more convenient and work full time. The owner, Mario, was great to work for. He's very easy to get along with. Mario is a great guy. Without any warning whatsoever, Mario sold the business. A new owner, a self-proclaimed veteran, took over the business and cut corners. I was informed just minutes before I was to leave the shop to go install carpet in someone's house. I was already loaded up and ready to go to work. That costs roughly forty dollars a day. That is a LOT of money for me. My Grandfather was a Marine and I wasn't told until he was dead and I was in my twenties. Marines came to his funeral in uniform. I was told my grandfather fought in a war and they didnt even specify which one. I don't care what military the new owner or anyone served in. That was your choice. I dont owe you jack shxt. He doesn't deserve any respect at all. Serving in the military does not give you the right to be domineering and treat employees and contractors with disrespect. He ruined my Christmas. The real enemy in all of this is Saban. The original 6 Rangers made the show into something monumental -- to the point that 30 years later, people are still talking about it. Saban knew if he lost all 6 of you at once, he'd have to conform to your demands and pay you reasonably, or he'd lose EVERYTHING. Instead, he took advantage of kids/young adults, splintered the group, and broke up the greatest Ranger team of all time. There's a reason so much of the lore being recreated today (like the Boom Comics) revolve around the original MMPR team. Kids like myself at the time wanted to see Jason, Tommy, Zack, Billy, Kimberly and Trini stay together. Sure, I grew to love some of the replacements over time -- but the 3 of you being forced out was my first crack in the fandom. I remember seeing the movie with some kids from school who all loved the show, and...it just didn't feel right that Jason, Zack and Trini didn't get to be on the big screen. By the time Turbo came around, I had completely checked out, despite still being in their target audience range. Over time, Power Rangers has evolved into something of a revolving door. Saban made his money on the toys and year after year, took advantage of young actors trying to catch a break. Despite all the money he made, he never really treated the actors how they deserved to be treated.

  • @AirshipOverWater

@@Moiraiway I’d argue if all 6 went at once, Power Rangers as we know it wouldn’t exist today. Keeping Billy, Kim, and Tommy in particular is what kept original fans onboard while younger fans grew into the show. By the time Tommy left in Turbo, the “revolving door” system was established and PR as a brand was solid enough to exist on a certain level, but nothing as close to the success MMPR did If all 6 went at once, I think it’s safe to say the show would’ve died off all together after a couple seasons, and we likely wouldn’t have gotten a second movie.

While personally, I think Unions have done as much harm as they've done good, I agree if they had stuck together and went to the producers and said "We, all of us together, are a key part of this massive success and feel we should be compensated for that. We aren't the same unknown actors we were when we signed. Nor is the MMPR the same unknown brand it was when we signed." They weren't being greedy, but expecting to be paid for the success they helped create. Having to replace the entire team would have been too high a risk for the producers to take, so they def would have caved on some of the terms.

From JDF’s perspective, he had just been brought back to the show after he was pulled as the lead from VR Troopers and had a young family to support. He didn’t want to rock a he boat. Amy and David may have had similar anxieties. JDF being the only one with a wife and kid definitely did Ultimately, they probably would’ve succeeded if they stuck together, but they also may have seen how they just change out the show yearly in Japan and it stayed successful and just didn’t want to risk it

He filmed himself telling my cousin to run but then turned around and made it a very wholesome video. I thought he’d charged me more, but he didn’t. He is a very funny and sweet guy.

Saban were foolish not to give these guys the contract that was needed and the other 3 just needed some back bone to actually make a change. Even if they got 6 new rangers in the ratings would have plummeted a lot more and the greedy company would have called them back. At the end of the day the budget was low and they were making stupid amounts of money, how the fk do you not pay your cast serious money. @feroohki8367

Yeah and to follow up that sentiment, I feel like Jason wouldn't have been relegated to blue either because he radiates red in any team. Maybe there could have been an auxiliary Zeo white ranger footage, side mission for Tommy that would have him still in the series minus a zord. At least up until the king/Gold ranger footage was available. Maybe at that point Saban would've tried a whole other solo show for Tommy before merging him back into the fold. It might've even replicated the rangers success he was trying to crack with beetleborgs and the mystic knights. I know I can do nothing but speculate with it, but who knows what that reality could've manifested itself into.

  • @blueskyy7

@@blueskyy7 Yeah, it's a branching possibility that I would bet both for and against. But think about it from my eyes, with the full OG roster, having both Billy and Tommy in the command center wouldn't make much use, sense or excitement. Then there would be the matter of having Tommy staying idle for that many episodes which doesn't seem like the way I could see things playing out until the gold ranger appears. And it looked like they were (somewhat) flirting with the notion of a white ranger with how they kept dressing up Billy in the color. When Saban had enough faith to diverge from being 1 to 1 with the footage we got the titanium ranger and Tommy was enough of his golden goose that it's not where I'm thinking either the budget for big bad beetleborgs, could've been reallocated to a Tommy centric series or even the show itself could have gone to JDF for the time being. But like I said, just a thought I connected some dots on a far flung alternative scenario.

The original MMPR Cast was and still is the Best so much so they stay making MMPR Merchandise til this day and none of that would've been possible if NOT for The first 6 Rangers period.

THE TRUTH: JDF betrayed his friends because he was interested in those bad series that flopped, where he was the protagonist, they were all agreed but JDF delivered the plans, then Saban renewed JDF's values for reasons already mentioned, AMY because she was the most beloved female character and that attracts the girls and Billy to avoid discrimination lawsuits. AFTER JDF DIED, some fans are trying to erase the truth and canonize him, the truth cannot be forgotten just because someone died.

I completely agree with you, the truth cannot be erased, I've known this story if JDF for many years and it's incredible how fans have always refused to talk about it.

@@brentpham1155 This fact was portrayed in several superhero magazines, some websites too, the two didn't mention it in the video but the story is old and out of respect for the JDF I doubt they talk about him as a villain now, but we already know the truth and the series Hey Listen mentioned above is VR Troopers.

They didn’t “walk off” like people always said They just didn’t sign a new contract They did leave before ADR work was done on the last 8 or so episodes so that’s why they sound different when morphed

so they technically walked off then, they didn't finish their contract.
