There were a lot of clips included that I never saw before. Must be the editing.

The beginning of the movie where the girls are chasing Austin Powers and he hides in the phone booth with a fake beard is a nod to the beginning of the Beatles movie A Hard Days Night.

My favorite scene is when Austin is trying to turn the cart around. Checkout Bedazzled with Brendon Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley (Vanessa).

The original Bedazzled with Peter Cook & Dudley Moore is better

Interesting thing about Austin Powers as a character is that while he might from England, Mike Myers is Canadian but his parents came from Liverpool so I imagine he had a leg up when it came to locking down the English accent.

Dr. Evil's voice and "pinky thing" is basically Dana Carvey's impersonation of Lorne Michaels. Mike kind of hijacked the impersonation for the character, and I think there was a beef between them for a long time about that.

One of the funniest parts is when Austin and vanessa follow the two workers into the bathrooms that are complete opposite body types and they come out after with perfectly fitting cloths haha.

Great movie. . The group therapy scene is one of the funniest scenes I have seen in any movie. You should also see Mike Mayer's in his Wayne's World movies

Lots of celebrity cameos filling speaking extra roles to keep it light and interesting.....plus the blatant references to james bond movie characters. Lots of laughs.

Still, it’s a theme fitting of Austin Powers; it encapsulates everything we know of the 60’s: groovy, swinging, and shagadelic.

All those fashions come directly from the 1960's. They were considered the Carnaby Street look.

This is a great movie. Austin Powers Is the Perfect movie if you need a good laugh. It makes you feel good inside. Mike Myers was iconic in the role. Expect to laugh until your side aches!

This movie is a satire from James Bond movies in the era of Sean Connery during the 1960s.

The cat was a character reference from the early James Bond films (as is this whole franchise), not The Godfather, but used in that same way. You should dive into the Bond films soon (in order).

Another comedy that had a better sequel also was The Brady Bunch sequel. It’s as if the actors didn’t taken themselves seriously at all and just had fun

This spoof movie of James Bond is a lot funnier to people who grew up watching old school James Bond movies like Gold Finger and you only live twice. These jokes will make a lot more sense. And you will know who Allota Vagina, Random Task, and Dr Evil are.

Funny you mention The Naked Gun, the scene in this was direct reference to Nielsen peeing during the press conference...It's a very similar style of direct but greatly acted comedy

All I can say is that I am glad you are reacting to this movie (I am laughing with you).

Your copy of the movie has a few extra scenes than was theatrically released in the US. I first noticed them when they got to Virtuacon. They ran into a guard played by Christian Slater. It looked like there was some hypnosis going on there, it's hard to tell in the KZread edit. And then after the Steam Roller, the call to the henchman's family was also an extra scene. Also the bar scene about the henchman.

There are numerous, running gags and parodies of 007, James Bond films from the sixties thru the nineties, such as Dr. Evil/Ernst Blofeld, and Random Task parodies Odd Job from GOLDFINGER (1965). Austin's fanbase of femmes (a la chase) is akin to Beatlemania of the mid-sixties. The psychedelic band with bikini dancer transitions are throwbacks to TV shows like LAUGH-IN, and LANCELOT LINK; SECRET CHIMP. Emma looks rather lost to any reference to the latter half of the twentieth century.
