That’s the best sounding A-series I’ve heard, I know the camera is close to the TB’s but the engine actually has some top end grunt. Great build👍

People don't really understand how fantastic it is to drive a hot mini. Just LOVE that sound and the gears! 😵

My god this thing goes from mild to HOLY CRAP in a flash.

You really can;t beat the a series when done right,listening to that thing scream and redline in top makes me what to sell my brand new JUNK FORD KUGA and sell the wife and kids keep my loyal dog and get a mini to tinker over the summer. my god what i would give for a go in that thing.

You sir, have just won the Internet. :-) loved watching the fuel trying to get sucked into the engine.

This is the first time I've seen sliding throttle bodies. They look neat! Car sounds amazing too!

They are super rare, I also saw one on a Subaru but that’s it.

Oh... just the sound alone is worth it!

As a raver back in the 80s I built crazy minis too, the craziest was a 296 kent cams 1293, fully kitted, it made about 122 Hp, This arden eight port would put it to shame though. Still happy to see someone wanting to make the most of the best car ever made :)

I still look like an old goth .. people are surprised that I have a 1430 mini that 122 hp I built it in my bedroom when I was 17 years old. Still now I look like a fucking idiot but when people talk to me about cars engine is minis, I tie them in fucking knots .. I guess it’s strings to the bows .. never be boring

I had a 45 Webber that she came into the bulkhead, and I have put nothing over. It says she’s a spit phones into the cabin.

This is how all road cars should be then you hear people coming and nobody gets run over. nice mod and video

Cannot beat the sound of and A series, my mate had a 1293cc full race with a webber carb which was road legal. used to be fun chasing RS Turbo's and stuff 🏁

play it? they should put a mini spec'd like this revving inside the church. I'd certainly go there every Sunday morning and take my entire family and friends to observe that godly fenomenon.

you can see the swirl even when at low slide openings (fuel circling anti-clockwise on slides) but DEFINITELY at full slide opening... I'd like to see the Reynolds number for the intake set-up... but... it doesn't take a whole lot to see that this thing riiiiiiiiips!

He said 1089cc, probably a rebored 1071 Cooper S and they were quite short stroke engines.

oh back in the 80's I had a 1098cc ex clubman estate engine in my saloon. mods were Kent 275 Cam, duplex chain, Mk2 copper head with slightly bigger valves and a single 1 1/2" SU and it would run smoothly up to 7000 ...quite a mad change from when it was a stock 850 saloon ...no where as ma as this thing!

@@BokorRider my dad had a stage 2 built 69 cooper s engine on a rover v8 carb with short gearing, spax suspension, big body kit(wide arches skirts and a flip front) in lime green with metallic purple wheels. It would keep up with escorts on twisty lanes

definitely wants longer horns but staggered so that they don't interfere with each other by creating a vacuum near each other, maybe some fine screen to keep debris out of the expensive internals

Awesome! Good quality video and sound, very rare to see the engine like this while driving. Amazing sound, might need another engine steady though. Did you dyno tune it? I wonder how much horsepower it produces. Any idea on cons and pros for a 7/8 port VS 16 valve DOCH setup?

This (and I mean this, specifically) is the only shitwheel drive I can say with certainty I'd quite happily own & drive daily! Man that is one ANGRY A-series, and it doesnt even have the bike dohc conversion.

The c20xe is an awesome engine too. I own an Astra GSI with that engine and the sound is incredible. But this mini... HOLY CRAP. I just wish my stepfather's mini was this fast. I would ride it every weekend (except in rainny ones, because I don't want to crap my pants more than I would with a mini this fast LMAO)

Beautiful clear demonstration of why slide throttle is a race setup. Partial throttle is horrible for road use.

I think there's another video from it and as I've read in the other video this thing just puts out a whopping 145 BHP, wich for a mini is the same as making the car become SCARY FAST

A lot of the fuel end up going to the windscreen. If it in an airbox then the mixture will be suck again into the inlet port.
