In Sydney, it was way worse back in the day. When it comes to street gangs like Onefour and 21 District it is generally stabbings and punch ons, because they are generally youthful gangs and it is hard for them to get their hands on guns as they aren’t cheap. Only a few people from those groups have guns but they don’t really need to use them. When it comes to shootings in Sydney, it actually happens more than people think but it isn’t those youth pulling them triggers. It is usually bikies, triads, crime families, the olders from those youth gangs, or just olders from different areas in Sydney.

Australian "drillers" forced their whole movement by creating unnecessary feuds and violence in an effort to make their environment seem more like the places they were trying to emulate. It's an interesting take about islanders being underrepresented in the media which I had never thought of before and so fascinating that they portraited so negatively in the media. I have met so many islanders and they're always the nicest people when you get to know them. Even when I've caught train through Mt Druitt the lads are actually fine provided you don't mess with them...

Yeah nothing but love for the islanders here in aus. I think Australian media figures have a superiority complex over Kiwis and smaller Pacific island neighbours which leads to that underrepresentation. Same with indigenous people. But like you said they're often some of the best ppl in the country
