The River
Hold your hands up, to your chest and tell me what you find.
Out of you a sparrow comes and sees without its eyes.
Don’t forget who you are even though you are hurt
You are caught in a wire and soon it will burst.
Come back to me, when you’re ready to reveal your worst.
You can cry, drinking your eyes,
Do you miss the sadness when it’s gone?
And you let the river run wild.
And you let the river run wild.
I’m a shadow, I am cold and now I seek for warmth.
Stitch your skin on to my skin and we won’t be alone.
Don’t forget who you are even though you’re in need.
Like a bird in the night, your emotions deserves to be free.
You can cry, drinking your eyes.
Do you miss the sadness when it’s gone?
And you let the river run wild.
And you let the river run wild.
You can cry, drinking your eyes,
I don’t miss the sadness when it’s gone!
And the feeling of it makes me smile.
And I let the river run wild.
You can cry. You can cry . You can cry.
To where the ocean is bigger. Become a part of the river.
You can cry. You can cry . You can cry.
Can you let the river run wild.
You can cry, You can cry . You can cry. drinking your eyes,
Do you miss the sadness when it’s gone?
And you let the river run wild. And you let the river run wild.
You can cry, You can cry . You can cry. drinking your eyes,
I don’t miss the sadness when it’s gone
And the feeling of it makes me smile
As I let the river run wild
You can cry. Drinking your eyes.
Do you miss the sadness when it’s gone?
And you let the river run wild.
And you let the river run wild.

This is going to sound a little weird but I need to say it somewhere. This song made me realize that I want to live. All of her songs make me feel something inside, but this one really has solidified it for me and now I know what it is. I want to live, I want to be free, I want to let go of the stupid worries and fears the world has given me and just experience everything. I have been suicidal for a long time, and I still am, but I feel like this song made me realize there are things in life that are worth fighting for. And I want to try to keep fighting.

Aurora isn’t odd or weird. She’s the outward expression of the inner monologue that most of us have forgotten and can no longer hear. That’s why her music resonates. That’s why we get goosebumps when we listen. We have become jaded. We have forgotten. This is why I truly love her and her music. She has brought me back to myself. Thank you Aurora.

@@burneraccount2611 Aurora reaches Many Spirits, reminding us who we are. It is by far more Noble to stand for something, than it is to stand against something. Be leery of the Anti-fascist for to be Anti-fascist one must become a fascist themselves. Better to "exist for love." Be free, be yourself, don't surrender to group think, don't be afraid to stand alone. I hear many people say "Aurora does this and Aurora demands that." And I think it's unfortunate that so Many reduce her song to the mundane, by pasting her insight onto their own political agendas. This isn't about Politics, it's a quest to find self by loosing self to the voice of the spirit, the voice of the heart, the voice of the love. The True Self beyond society's norms. Let your spirit fly free, it isn't about you, our lives are not about ourselves, your life isn't about you, it's about your relationship with existence.

@@burneraccount2611 I wouldn't call it Progressive. That's a filthy word to me it was the progressive who destroyed Native American civilization. It is a progressive who said Go West Young Man it is the progressive who thinks people who live in the wilderness are a bunch of stupid Savages. Yeah that's a sore spot for me. The modern Progressive thinks real liberalism is conservative. Ever read John Locke? That is what liberalism is about. It's not about big government it's about returning to Mother Earth. I am mestizo, and I realized very young that what the bastards did to me as a Native American they did to me first as a Native European. Aurora is very much the true meaning of the word Savage. She is a siren who calls us back home. Aurora is not the first person to think these things, and she certainly won't be the last. "He asks if he's the only one To truly balance between the Earth and the Sun In and yo is Nature's Road But he fears it may not save your soul A tear comes to his eye as he watches the birds fly Locked into this so-called modern way of life Because he knows it only brings pain and strife Only when it's too late do people realize Can you catch the wind to save you from your sin? Can you live and die to become a butterfly? If you think you know then you better think my friend Because Jesus is calling us back to Eden again." - (C) John A. May 10, 2019. I'm so stressed, I want to die. Before I left, I went on KZread to listen to a song before I died, and it happened to be The River. I heard the song, you know what, I cried, cried a lot when she said "You can cry" that was the biggest cry I ever cried, After crying, my soul was less miserable, it was like magic that I encountered before jumping into the river, so beautiful. And it was this song that introduced me to Aurora's music. Thank you Aurora, you saved my life, thank you for the song The River, I can't say it enough. Thank you...

One of the reasons I love this song, I hear people saying "oh, don't cry" thinking it's comforting, it's not it's just invalidating, at least it is to me, I don't want someone to tell me not to cry, to tell me not to express my emotions, I know what it's like to not be able to cry when I need to and it's horrible, being able to cry when I need to is such a refreshing feeling, don't keep your tears in if you need to cry then you can cry

I used to think that showing my emotions was something to try and avoid, but as I get older I've realised it's the worst thing you can do. Sometimes you have to let it out - its much better for you to do that, and it took me years to figure it out. This song says it far better than I ever could!

Oh boy this song helped me come to terms with the miscarriage my wife and I suffered. I don’t know how but it just opened up a box of emotions I was keeping locked away. It’s so perfect, nails the bittersweet sadness of loss while still being able to look back and smile at happier memories and ultimately allowing yourself to just accept that pain and let the river run wild. I’m a man in my 30s and probably not the target audience for her music but this spoke to my core and I just wanted to leave this comment (likely to never be seen) to say thank you

From time to time pure souls are coming to live among us and try to wake us up. But hate, greediness, jealousy, selfishness and many other bad things are so strong that they are almost invisible to our poisoned eyes. How do you recognise them? You have this feeling that they are different from us, they are beautiful inside and out, they are talking to you and they fill your heart with love and kindness.

I'm a little bit disappointed with the people's reaction to Aurora when I introduce them to her music. "Nice voice, weird music". This song helped me realize that some resentment I was holding in for so long was actually just sadness disguised. And as I listened to this, I cried it all out because I was so tired of having that weight on me, and it feels so good and so natural to just let it all go. Like going back to who I really am. I never was that resentment, I was always just a person with a shining heart that was hurt in the past, and who swallowed tears that turned into thorns. I'm not afraid to let the river run wild now, and to let my heart shine again with scars and all. Auroras songs have all helped me in extremely deep ways. I'll never be grateful enough for all that they've done for me.

What I get from the clip is that we're always ready (scissors in hand) to cut off/repress our tears/sadness because it's considered a form of weakness. She looks worn out, waiting for the next tears to come, scissors in hand. At some point she has an insight (nature inspired/water/river/cleansing) and throws scissors away. When next wave comes, she accepts it and goes through it. She's energised now, running, she feels something good is coming out of it... It feels natural! Finally, tears turn into beautiful roses, making her even more beautiful and unique being. Accept your tears, let this river run, cleansing yourself and preparing terrain for beautiful flowers to come.

But of course, Aurora is no ordinary pop singer. She is unique and beautiful, and a genius, and I am looking forward to this like nothing before.
