Aurora said in a interview that this was one of her favorite songs & that she wrote this from the perspective of mother nature toward humanity, but I truly do believe that might be just part of the story. Aurora also mentioned that the full meaning of a song doesn't always present itself to her immediately. I think here she might be playing with the emotions she has towards her (negative) experience with humanity & maybe mother nature is the proxy through which she engages with these thoughts. Soulless creatures, wouldn't mind if she can't find anything to save our kind? I think tho she strives to bring love & light & positive change to the world, she's known great darkness & hate & perhaps struggles to see a world of beauty & goodness (for all) where for so long they attacked her soul, the general public, she's thrust into the spotlight & fighting with her hesitation & hurt towards receiving people who potentially would've (& in other circumstances potentially still would) reject & take away the pieces of her, tho she already strives to keep what she has of herself, she's lost some parts that she loved & gained some she doesn't want from those who were so fearful & hateful in her life. I think I could be gravely overspeculating 😅 But something about this rings true to me... I'm sorry Aurora.

Sorry @@gabypolo3193 I honestly can't remember! They all kind of blend together in my head & I haven't seen the interviews in quite a bit 🤷‍♂️ Generally, I just get this vibe from her, hope mixed with some disillusionment & pain, hope which can also lead to painful & repeated disappointment. She talked in another interview I believe about there being several sides of herself, one lighter & one a bit darker & honest, she had said she hadn't shown much of the latter, yet in this song she mentions showing both sides of herself, which you might assume how I interpret that in context 😋 But there's beauty in the darkness still, if I'm write, I'm hopeful to see the rawness of her honest perspective.

This song is just so perfect, I just feel at home with Aurora songs, like if I was born with her voice in my head, calling me to a world that she created. Her songs, her voice and herself comunicate with us, with her Warriors/Weirdos. I really hope to meet Aurora one day, it doesn't metter when, it can be now, it can take years, and if I'm not alive or her, I hope to meet her as a soul. I just needed to put some of my words here, to let you know how I feel with your music Aurora, it's a little hard to explain but I feel like flying, like blossoming, I just feel at home, with a wonderful sensation of warmless and peace. It happens with all of your songs, but mostly with this song "Soulless Creatures", "A Different Kind Of Human" and "All Is Soft Inside". I'm usually a ghost follower, not the type of person that leaves comments on every song (it doesn't mean that i'm not a true fan), but this time I felt the need to leave a comment for Aurora, maybe this comment will be lost in the middle of the others words, but what matters is that I know that I left it here, for you reader, and for the most purest soul on earth, Aurora.

This song is driving me crazy for two reasons: 1. I am madly in love with it. The vocals are some of the most beautiful I have heard lately, especially in the chorus. The whole song is so angelic and melancholic, but the second chorus makes the song to me. It's mesmerising. 2. The meaning. My take is probably different from what she intended originally, but I see it as a song about how imperfect us humans are. We can be cruel ("hunting for a victim"), selfish ("I wouldn't mind if I can't find anything to save our kind"), self-harming ("I am falling apart in daylight") and we all have both sides ("I gave both sides of me"). Probably, the soulless creatures are just us, the entire human kind. But the lyrics are quite hard to understand as a whole. It's like we are listening to many enigmatic images we have to glue together ourselves.

I think something very similar. I love her writing, it's very stream of conscious except dream-like, stream of unconscious? I think she's speaking about humankind, she mentioned before that she this song is her writing from the perspective of mother nature to humans, but I feel that her own feelings towards humans leaks into it too. I think she might be expressing her sympathy with nature in a way, how they were both rent to pieces by mankind, losing the parts of herself that she loved (pieces of her childlike nature? I know she loves that 😌) I think she's talking about how her heart was dismantled & corrupted by fearful, hateful, soulless creatures growing up (as a weirdo) singled out for her difference, as many of us are, separate from the love that others withheld from her, where she only desired true empathy? I'm piecing a lot of ideas from her songs together & interviews, as well as whatever I can kind of imagine from my own experiences & what I know about her.

this song makes me think of a mother planet, who has been destroyed by her residents- her children. She's falling apart now and she watches all of her children's souls drifting away as they have destroyed themselves while they were destroying her as well. She says farewell with love, hate, sadness and joy in her heart. This song is her last words as before she completely disintegrates and a deep magnetic silence take over her. This is my favorite song ever.

Once upon a time, an acquaintance of mine told me a story of a similar nature. An ancient alien planet destroyed out of their inhabitants’ carelessness. They wander universe after universe with their techno-spiritual powers, still having not learned their lesson; going from planet after planet enthralling their inhabitants to do the same as they once did. Some out of envy for having that which they’ve long lost; some out of contempt for what they consider a weakness - as poor often do of the rich, but in terms of spiritual wealth and abundance of nature. One can consider this our Earth’s song in one of our futures. But I can’t help but be reminded of that tale. The alien outer spacey tone and mood. The album drawing that is eerily humanoid yet not quite ours. I don’t literally believe in it. But I can’t help but be reminded of it because it’s utterly similar in fashion. If we’re not careful, we’d find ourselves the same fate. Enthralled in a sense by these malicious yet sad souls. Listen as if it’s that ancient alien planet singing us of the love, hate, sadness, regret, and nostalgia for those alien souls that haunt us. That mother planet soul, from some other time and space, that they too were once children of...

But when I let the word, "hate," be replaced with, "head," I can allow myself to feel the meaning. "I've got pieces of, YOUR head, in MY soul." (What I picked up along the way, what you dropped on me... You, your good and bad, your worst, your dark imprint on me... Is something that I will carry with me FOREVER.) There's plastic in everyone's blood now... Most of the wildlife as well... We messed her up BAD. I'm so sorry.

Can we make a forum on our thoughts over her lyrics? I need to see if I'm the only one who feels she's trying to save the humanity in every possible meaning. She delivers...I don't know how to describe them with words...some kind of cosmic message for us. Her sounds also, take us to another level of consciousness, of intensity of the perception of feelings we closed into a tiny box deep within ourselves. Her lyrics all speak (in my opinion) about feelings, dreams, self-consciousness, connection with nature and the natural world, this planet in crisis that needs to be healed, from us, if only we could learn again to resonate with our most pure feelings. She tries to awaken us, for we have a fight to win for this planet. But in the very end, we will all go home, where her frequencies are just everything that dimension is made of. Doesn't matter if we tried and failed, or if we didn't try at all...it doesn't matter how much this earthly life has corropted you making you forget who you really are and what your mission was...you are always wellcomed home, in the end. Ok...yeah maybe It's just me. But that would be ok too, I'll still fly listening to her songs. But...how do you feel when you listen to her? What do you think she's saying to us?

I think it's about how the world is so cruel and dark now and someone rediscovering the beauty of humanity at the start of the song. He tries to save/spread this beauty by putting himself at the frontlines to lead the fight against the darkness (telling his fighters to "come back to me after peace restores"). But in the process he becomes what he doesn't want to be, maybe by becoming self righteous in fighting and killing others which he deems "soulless creatures" with "fearsome hearts". He tells them not to fear as he kills them (his "victims lying down", "listening to the deep magnetic sound" of firearms), as their memories will live on in him - together with their hate - corrupting (or infecting, if you like) him in the process. In the end perhaps he loses his fight and is ripped apart and killed. But it is also metaphorical as he falls apart and loses all the beautiful pieces of himself which he loved. He dies thinking he gave both sides of himself in the fight, the goodness which he wanted to portray and the darkness which he used to achieve it

My favourite song in this album by far. I love her peaceful melody, but there's also a kind of anger, disappointment; like you tried to do some good for someone else but it was meaningless and the result is just self isolation. I have a lot of thoughts about this song. It's kinda complicated but very clear with the message it tries to share. Aurora is simply a genius.

Easily in my top 5 favorite Aurora songs. It's a shame she doesn't really do this one live. Because the one time she did it with the Bergen Orchestra....damn that was powerful. It's just kinda funny to me how crazy people are over Runaway. I mean, sure Runaway IS a good song. But, imo, it isn't even in the top 20 Aurora songs. I always wonder why THAT song? What was it about Runaway that got more commercial attention than literally every single one of her other songs combined? Oh well....I guess that's a tale as old as time. Smells Like Teen Spirit will always be Nirvana's #1 song, regardless of the genius of everything else. And Aurora will _always_ be synonymous with Runaway. But songs like this, or All is Soft Inside, or Apple Tree, or Lucky, or Winter Bird, or Giving In To The Love, or I Went Too Far, or A Different Kind of Human, or etc etc......there are so many songs of hers that deserve more attention.

@@michalbosiuk 🤔 that's a fair point actually. While it might not be my most favorite song musically, the overall theme is super universal and delivered with total conviction. That's kinda why my favorite song of all time is Grimes - Realiti. There are TONS of songs I'd argue are better, and I love plenty of truly great stuff from Bowie to Jane's Addiction and The Beatles to REM. But...the theme and vibe and emotional core of Realiti...about hope, fresh starts, new beginnings, the liminality of life...speaks to my soul, to the best version of me. And musically it captures that feeling perfectly.

This song just makes you feel better I swear 😌 even though it's a sad subject I love this song. I always think of Aurora's songs as more of storybooks, and inspiration. This story/song is one of my very favorites if not the most meaningful one to me that she has written. I don't like to think of myself as just a fan. Yes I appreciate her music but I feel a deeper connection than just a fan of her music. She herself is so beautiful on the inside (outside too) and another thing is that I feel a connection, a relation that I'm sure a lot of you feel, especially my fellow infps. Like Aurora displays feelings and values and things of importance in her songs, a list of songs that really show it the most in my opinion is Soulless Creatures, The seed, Cure for me, Running with the Wolves, Animal soul, my heart I a storm ECT... I'm sure you get what I mean. I also used to never find music I really connected to, I never really had a solid favorite artist until Aurora. And I never like the music on the radio. It's always the same old, people finding love , breaking up, singing about the man/woman of their dreams, Drugs, money, fame. Aurora will always have me, I will forever support this person. She is so sweet, she does so much for us, she is kind, accepting, supportive, and she takes time out of her day for us. She used to be so uncomfortable in live performances which I'm sad she dealt with that but I am also so grateful to her that she would do all that she has done. Even if Aurora stops being an artist and never releases another song I would still be a loyal fan of her until my end.

The chorus is one of the most beautiful I've ever heard 🤧 and i don't know why - and by the lyrics alone it doesn't even make sense - but when listening to this, all that comes to mind is WHALE HUNT and the song is from an wounded whale's perspective (????) towards the soulless creatures ( us, humans). In a sense the nature itself manifested, i guess? On that perspective the "fear not, fear not" part hits even harder 🤧

Beautiful vocal, I don't know what words to use to describe how this song makes me feel but it feels wonderful and deep. Aurora's song's help me to calm down and less anxious.
