Today we painted Painting #861 - 24x36" Black Canvas with 4 Colors using Thick Oil Paints with Liquid Clear. Colors will be listed below. I look forward to seeing your painting! Send in pics via Facebook Messenger to / paintwithjosh
Colors : Phthalo Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Midnight Black, & Titanium White
Tools : 1" & 2" Brushes, 2 Fan Brushes (Size : Whatever works best for you), Palette Knife, Script Liner Brush
Canvas Prep : I took a 24x36" Canvas from Michael's out of the plastic and covered it in Liquitex black gesso, let it dry completely, & then put it on the easel. When it came time to paint this scene, I applied Bob Ross Liquid Clear to the entire canvas & covered the canvas in blue & crimson in different areas and immediately started painting. I showed you every other step on screen

In Laporte border w/ Deer Park. I like Cobra Talens water mixable oils and bought small Safflower oil for cooking. No odor from Cobra Talens, it's still hard 4me. Josh is amazing 👏

Have you considered doing a triptych where the scene flows over all three canvasses? That would look awesome, I think.

I did it with 4 canvases over multiple videos. That 4 piece led to the inspo for the Sunset Canyon Waterfall painting which was my best to date for longest time. If you go to the Live Tab on my channel and scroll down a ways you'll see it next to "Double Trouble"

This is amazing. Could this be done in acrylic paint. I'm 81 yes old. I love to paint, but I only have acrylic. I watching another tutorial you did and Ive trying to find it but I can't. It was also a night seascape with lightening. I'm watching you from Karpathos island Greece

Do you mix your oil base colors with anything to make the painting dry faster? Mine has been sticky for a week. We all learn from each other. You're my inspiration bro

I don't add anything to it. Your climate okays a big part in drying time. It's so hot and dry here in Vegas that mine dry in 2 days if I leave them in the garage. Now, for comparison when I first started, they took 6 weeks to dry
