Aurora was inspired to write this song after a dream, saying in an interview: “Black Water Lilies was a dream I had. The melody was playing in the background. And I was dreaming that there was a hand, and I grabbed it, and it took me underwater. And there was a river, unter the water, running down. And I floated on the river, under the water, and I came to this magic place with lots of black water lilies - floating on the water - which was underneath the water. It was a very strange dream. When I woke up I ran straight to the piano and wrote the song.”

She's like fiction. Beautiful, strange, mysterious, addicting, captivating. She's so amazing and each time I hear her music I'm like, Why is there such a perfect person on this Earth? It's like that woman.. I cannot remember her name but I remember what she did. She bought a piece of art that she thought was too perfect. She went home and threw it out the window and it broke. She did that because she didn't think he works deserved something so perfect. That's what I feel whenever I hear Aurora's voice.

"死" means death and "四" is four. My Chinese teacher told me about that and I can't forget it. The pinyin has the same pronunciation. Different tones. It's interesting actually.

Part of the reason I loved conqueror was because of a video of her performing it on Jimmy Fallon. Whenever she moved her arms or just danced, I would get this amazing feeling that made me dance along. It was a feeling that reminded me of why I love Aurora so much. I love her songs not just for the songs but for her, too.

At the last battle of the last war of humanity, I want this song to be played in the background when the last weapon is fired.

I just listened to this whole album in my back yard durring quarinten. I am very lucky to have a backyard. I climed a tree, and daned around (I'm pretty sure some of my nabours could see me, and judged me but w/e.) So I'm very glad Aurora wrote music so good I felt compelled to actually go outside, and not melt into a quarenteen induced funk for 4 months.
