This is the title track from my next album "Raised by Bats". Mostly, it's an album of Deathrock, Gothic and New Wave songs, many of which I wrote in the 80s! This song, however is a new one. Also, I have a book coming out in May 2013 called "Call of the Jersey Devil" (Spence City) and one of the main characters, Villy Bats has a band called Raised by Bats. I'm in essence making the one album his band released. I hope for the album to be out in time for the release of the book.

Please keep in mind that I live in a tiny NYC apartment and that I have to throw something out before I can accept something new, so please don't go nuts with gifts. Also, I'll be on tour, so anything you give me at Whitby will have to (somehow) travel with me all through the UK, Europe and back to the US so it should be REALLY REALLY REALLY SMALL. ; )
Happiest goth song ever. I love you Voltaire. Even though you are a goth artist, very little of your work is doom and gloom. You've gotten me through some awful times, my friend. I give you partial credit for me still being alive today.

Voltaire, you are one of the only members of "goth" society that I still respect. I have grown and abandoned the clothing style but not the mindset and so I still consider myself goth in the same way that a turtle without it's shell may be a dead turtle, but is still by all means a turtle. As I grew I went from hating life, to hating society, to realizing that I can hate both and still enjoy the cruel irony and morbidity of the world, Then I found your music and have since been a loyal fan.

I used to have the urge to write songs, but never did because I couldn't really play an instrument (still can't, actually) And then I watched a video of yours (can't quite remember which one) and you shared this same advice and now I find myself inventing melodies in my head to go with the lyrics up there. Good start, I suppose, one I never would have had without this advice. So thank you, Voltaire, for providing me an outlet for the songs I could never write before.
