In this episode Tarikh Nikhil talks about Guru Teg Bahadur, the ninth Guru of Sikhism. Guru Teg Bahadur played a crucial role in the history of the Sikh faith and the struggle for religious freedom. Born Tyag Mal on April 1, 1621, in Amritsar, he later became known as Teg Bahadur, which translates to "Mighty of the Sword." Guru Teg Bahadur succeeded his father, Guru Hargobind, as the leader of the Sikhs in 1664.
One of the defining moments of Guru Teg Bahadur's life was his unwavering commitment to protecting the religious freedom of people of all faiths. In response to the persecution of Hindus in Kashmir by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, Guru Teg Bahadur made the ultimate sacrifice. He chose to stand against religious intolerance and oppression by offering his own life. In 1675, Guru Teg Bahadur was arrested in Delhi under the orders of Aurangzeb.
Despite facing torture and the threat of death, Guru Teg Bahadur refused to convert to Islam and remained steadfast in his commitment to defending the rights of others to practice their religion freely. Ultimately, he was executed in public in November 1675. This act of sacrifice and martyrdom earned him the title "Hind di Chadar" or "Shield of India."
Guru Teg Bahadur's teachings emphasized the importance of selfless service, devotion to God, and the pursuit of justice. His son, Guru Gobind Singh, who succeeded him as the tenth Guru, continued his legacy and transformed the Sikh community into the Khalsa, a community of baptized Sikhs committed to upholding justice and protecting the rights of all.
Guru Teg Bahadur's life and sacrifice remain an inspiring and integral part of Sikh history, symbolizing the struggle for religious freedom and the willingness to stand up against tyranny for the sake of justice and righteousness.

Second reason behind the sacrifice of guru teg bhadur ji was the kashmiri pandit requested to guru ji for the priotect of their religion because with the order of aurangzeb the governor of Kashmir pressured them for their conversation guru ji said, to brahmins that yu asked him that guru teg bhadur ji our guru if he became Muslim we also do the same but guru ji never accept islam so their religion protected later majority of this delegation of Pandits become sikhs and adopted Sikhism and fought many battles

It is sad to see the complete narrative being changed. This is exactly how subtle distortion of history looks like ! Even if small mistakes are ignored( insufficient research) , you misinformed about the two very important historical events . Firstly, Guru Har Rai was not executed and secondly , You left out the most important reason for the Martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib. He has been called 'Hind ki Chadar' and the 'saviour of Janeu 'by historians as he sacrificed his life for the Kashmiri Pandits . Extremely disappointed @TheLallantop

Guru Teg Bahadur Ji went to Delhi because Kashmiri Pandits came to him for help because Aurangzeb was killing Hindus everyday. Otherwise mughals have called gurus before too. They never went to Delhi, instead asked mughals to come to them if they wanna meet. For example Babur and Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Akbar and Guru Ram Das Ji. Don’t try to change history

The British divided Sikhs from Sanatan Dharma only to control them. It could be resolved after independence but Congress went through the same path. 😮😮

Appreciate your efforts to bring out Guru sahib’s life history. But how can you miss the most important part- that Guru ji went to Delhi to protect the Kashmiri Pandits who can had came to Guru sahib for refuge as they were being persecuted by Aurangzeb and no other Indian King (Hindu, Muslim or any other) was ready to give me them shelter. Guru sahib stood for human rights principle when the world didn’t even understood its meaning. Guru sahib declared to Aurangzeb that he was the leader of the Kashmiri pandits and if he was able to convert Guru sahib to Islam the entire Hindu community would convert.. However, if Aurangzeb was not able to convert Guru sahib, then he would leave all the Hindus of the country alone. This is inspite of being no threat to Guru sahib, as a Sikh Guru, from Aurangzeb. This is what exactly happened and Guru Maharaj gave his life for saving other religion rather than converting. Hence, the name- Hind Di Chadar. Such a heart wrenching episode from the history.. Khali yahi ek episode kafi hona chahie un logon ke lie jo Aurangzeb jaise raja ko dharmyaapi or islam ka rakhshak mante hain..Sirf apni siyasi bagdor ko mazboot karne lie , taaki apni marzi ka guru Punjab me sthapit kar pae, Aurangzeb ne aisa vibhatsa kaam kar daala.. Mai Islam ka anuyayi hu. Apne kisi nihatte aadmi ko marna aur apne baap ko jise jannat ka darwaza kaha gaya hai, kothri me qaid rakhna. Apne bhai ko maar daalna.. Ye siyasat hai, naaki dharm.. Doosri or Sikh guru hain, jinhone satya ke lie apni jaan bhi de di. Jaisa logon ko Nirbhay aur nirbair rehne ke lie kaha, us pe poori tarah khud khare utre! Aise mahan guru ko shat shat naman!

There are several conflicting accounts and theories as to why Mughal authorities publicly executed Guru Tegh Bahadur in Chandani Chowk in November 1675. While the mainstream Brahmanical narratives claim that Guru Tegh Bahadur was killed by Mughals for standing up against Mughal atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits, contemporary Persian accounts of those times claim that it was actually the Guru who oppressed the peasants of Punjab as he moved around with his large band of followers and was therefore caught, brought to Delhi and beheaded by Mughal authorities.

There are no contemporary records of the time. The persian account you're referring to is known as "Siyar-ul-mutakherin," written almost a century later (70 to 80yrs after the event that happened in 1675CE) that too by biased and radicalized muslim chronicler as the vulgar and abusive text of the book suggest.
