This is a kopiah or some called it songkok or peci or cap. I made it with 3 ply cotton yarn and 3 mm hook. You can use 5 ply cotton yarn or even 8 ply cotton yarn but the hook would have to be bigger. I find this pattern lovely on kopiah.
