This is the reunion scene, and it's perfect. You can see what's going through the characters minds without a word being spoken. You see it in the joy in Layla's face and the little laugh she gives when she sees Louis. And you see it in the shock on Louis'face when he sees August. But the best part of the scene is right at the end before the screen goes black, August smiles and begins to turn. He's turning around to see his parents, but he's smiling because he already knows they're there. Adding anything more than this would have been unnecessary, and would have ruined the feel of the whole scene.

One of the most underrated films. I love this inspiring film soooo much.

When I was younger I use to dream that this would be how I would find my birth parents. The innocence of it all had me weeping as a child because I knew this wouldn't be my reality. I've always been a pessimist. I know this to be true, just not for me. I got over it, but every so often I come and listen to this song to ground me, and keep me on my journey of self love and awareness. I'm sure some people meet their birth parents in cool ways so that brings me peace.

It really doesn’t get much better than this. The music alone is gorgeous, but paired with the story, the performances…it’s transcendent, really something special. And the little girl’s part is so amazing, you want it to go on forever, but it ends in an almost stressful way, showing that things of such beauty don’t last long down here.

This movie is laughed at because it's about musicians, but the music is awful. Anyone can slap a guitar in open tuning and sound decent. The chances of him meeting another guitar player using the same non-standard tuning are absurdly low. The Dad played in an Irish rock band so it made sense that his guitar was tuned DADGAD. If I happened to meet some kid that also had a guitar tuned in DADGAD I would honestly wonder if I was related to them. Just like in that Liam Neeson movie where he noticed one of the bad guys accidentally picked up a left-guitar and the hero noticed it. But the movie is about a series of seemingly unrelated happy accidents that bring a family together. If you can view it as pure entertainment, that's great.

I know right? Other films have actors do almost a thirty or forty minute dialogue, and in few films such as August Rush they don't need to speak, just a nonverbal gesture. And it brings out emotions.

In the sequel screen play you find out that dad's a drunk with an Irish temper and moms a helicopter parent with daddy issues that plague the relationship. The kid, who has been on his own til now, can't take it and he leaves in the night with a woman from the local county fair. The kid becomes a game operator and marries a bar fly. Just kidding

La historia mas hermosa, triste pero a la vez la mas hermosa que pude ver. Llega hasta el fondo del corazon. No me cansaria de verla una y mil veces.

I love this movie for so many reasons, (1)it was the first movie that I worked as extra in.(2) I fall deeply in love with entertainment world because of this movie. I remember bunch of us meeting in Central Park around 2am in the morning to play concert goers. I had an amazing time!!!!🙌🏿

That smile at the end spoke volumes, and yes the music is all around us It’s the universal language

I always wished that they made the reunion of these three not only to the parents but to their talented child. Last credits.

Indeed this is one of the most underrated movies. I am glad to be among those that have seen it. The joy in the boy's face when he is involved in music makes you imagine what he's feeling. Even his recent role in The Good Doctor is master class

I remember this in theaters. Not a dry eye in sight afterwards, I swear.

I’m so thankful to the teacher that show us this in 7th grade. We all cried together and every time in high school we all passed each other we’d nod to one another in respect for the beautiful things in life.

I am beyond in love with this movie. I have always lived classical, but this takes it to a whole new level - each time I watch this movie I get chills. The music is so beautiful and transcendent - it exceeds beyond the meaning of music. This is what music is supposed to do, it’s supposed to touch your soul.

Just finished this movie for the first time. This movie is the first time tears have fallen from my eyes since the day I learned my mother would not survive much longer in 2020. Now it is this, Forrest Gump when He talks to Jenny, and Reign over me when he talks about his little girls in the counselor’s office.

It was bittersweet I was happy but wanted more. Love this scene 🤧gosh this movie is beautiful embodies hope faith and undying love. Love reaches high and never fails. 💝

I cried through the entire movie, all three times I saw it at the theaters and dozens of times on cable channels and DVD.

Still take me back when i was in high school obsessed over Keri Russell and the music of this film and innocence of all three characters especially Evans and keri Russell. Freddie highmore's eyes can make you feel things. They have such longing in them

The movie was wonderful . I enjoyed it from the beginning to the final scene. Robin William was terrific in it . Freddie Highmore is an amazing actor and I love him in the good doctor.

I love August Rush esp. this last part he felt his mom and dad is there...so very touching scene..time and again i always watch this beautiful movie with the late Robin Williams♥️

This film is so underrated, haven't seen it anywhere but put on TV randomly a few years ago and I loved it.

Beautiful , Composition is perfect , the little girl singing is amazing and with the music brings a tear

His little face is just so joyful!

This part always gives me goosebumps or cry . What a beautiful movie this is.

I remember seeing this in theatres with my dad. I can remember sitting in the second to last row watching this scene and seeing out of the corner of my eye my dad with tears in his eyes. He doesn't get that emotional, especially over a film but this film, especially this moment in the film, deeply touched him and I. This film is so beautiful and I am treasure my dvd copy of it. Las notas de la melodía y los instrumentos fueron muy bien estructurados para elevar la vibración del alma .... Exactamente Dios Bendiga a aquellos que aún sienten la caricia de sus emociones y no solamente se sumergen en las redes sociales para olvidar que seguimos aquí .... Un abrazo fuerte

I agree. I have a few ideas that they could use. but its not good enough. someone rally put a lot of thought into this. I think they just wanted to tell a story. They took something simple and made it grand.

someone wrote about the deleted scene with Louis and Marshall and its true they should have kept that in. It explains a lot especially when Louis says "there is something out there for me I can hear it" and what if she needs me. Love, Love this movie.

He looks at her, his heart knows. As he walks her way he touches her hand, her heart knows as she turns towards him. Together once more true Love, as they watch their son perform. Then As their son turns around he notices them and smiles. Family bond Perfection.

Well keep in mind she was looking for her son. He was looking for her. He had no idea he had a son until 3:29 when he looks up and the "oh shit" look briefly crosses his face as he comes to realize why she's there.

I remember my ex boss bringh this movie and said watch it, i said boring, i dont wanna watch it, then i watch it just because he insisted and ther i was crying and loving it, what a movie. I went to my boss and said Thank you, i loved it.

@@joycebrannen1943 Not afraid to say what? that I cried? lolol I am always saying it, I really don't care what people think about me, that's the most important thing here, I dont like to follow the sheeps, if I like something I say it, if I don't like something I say it too, I have friends who cried and they don't say a world to anybody JUST BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY R GOING TO BE JUDGE BY PEOPLE, LOLOLOLO HOW FUNNY PEOPLE WHO DONT EVEN FEED THEM OR CARE ABOUT THEM OR KNOW THEM, not my case, my family always said fight for whatever things u r happy if people don't like it, their problem, and I have seen this sometimes people have silly ideas and then there I go explaining my IDEAS, MY point of view about life, 2 weeks later they r talking like I WAS TALKING, with my SAME IDEAS, and then I think well they were just waiting for someone to explain to them that YOU CAN HAVE YOUR OWN IDEAS NO MATTER WHAT. BUT WE NEED TO RESPECT EACH OTHER. respect is the key. One week I go I said to a group of friends I cried with the movie The pursuit of happyness, and one guy said, OMG did you cry what a p**** I said what if I cried, I cried because it remind me of a period in my life when I was broken, not just about the money but also my spirit was broken, and I remembered so many things watching that movie, I cried a lot and I let everything out from my system. the guy just listened and said im sorry I couldn't cried cause I was with my cousins but I wanted too, See my point. thanks for your words God bless you.

Una gran película. En el 2013 dije que estaba entre mis favoritas y aún sigue estando allí. Una mezcla de muchos sentimientos en ese final
