Coming from a combat veteran, this is a very powerful and moving song. Again, ABR shows that they are an incredibly talented band. It hurts me to see my brothers having to suffer on the streets. Together we fought for the safety and freedom for the people Of this beautiful country, and a lot of us are so easily disposed of. You see them sitting on streets, on corners, begging for any kind of help they can get and the majority of you avoid them taking for granted that you're free because of the sacrifices they made. And you turn your backs to them. I lost my leg from the knee down, and I count my blessings everyday because the VA is good to me and a lot of men and women lost so much more than a leg. I donate a lot of my free time to helping my brothers and sisters. Because you all may have turned your backs on us, but we'll never turn our backs on each other.. or you. I'm not saying I'm a saint because the good Lord knows I'm not. But what I am trying to say is that you guys need to remember what they've done for you. Open your hearts people. Because something could happen to you and next thing you know you're in the same situation. But please, tell me, if you were homeless, starving, and cold and everyone avoided you like you were a freak or monster.. how would that make you feel? would it not break your heart?

I'm a city bus driver, and I see a lot of people that are down and out every workday. This song always reminds me to try to have humility and show grace to everyone, all the time. I think balloons are brutal. Meddler has a good video of you like balloons being brutal.

From when Jeremy's verse comes in until the end really chokes me up, because it can apply to far more than just homelessness, but to mental health, disease, and of course poverty. As someone that's battled with depression since I was about 6, the last bit of this song really hits heavy. "Act like you know me, but do you even know yourself? When you got nothin' you got nothin' to lose. I may have no one else to blame, but listen to me. You and I, we were once the same". And the way Jeremy's voice harmonizes in the last few lines is almost haunting. I hope everyone is hanging in there, no matter what "front" your battle may be taking place on, keep on hanging on. Much love.

+César Tresca Yep,this guy is INSANELY talented,I had the chance to actually meet the entire band in person last winter...I'll remember it for my entire life,and they are really nice individuals!I told the drummer he was the main reason I started playing drums,he shook my hand and gave me hug while giving me the most sincere and appreciative "thank you" you can think of.I'm all for free music on the internet and all,but this and Parkway Drive are the only 2 bands whom I actually buy their albums :P DO IT TOO!!

This part is just so strong, i love it

I am a proud recovered alcoholic and opioid addict. I spent years fighting to get & stay off the streets. I've housed for 6 years, off drugs for about 4 and off alcohol for about 16 months. This is a powerful because of how true it is. I remember sitting under a bridge wondering how the hell I got there. Beforehand I made $120,000/year but over time the drugs took over. It was only through Christ Jesus' love and Grace that I am here. And that I am sober. People don't want to think about how fast you can end up on the streets. Alot of successful men end up on the streets after their wife divorces them. Or from a medical emergency.

That entire last section of the song is so powerful man

This is what music is all about. This song is an absolute masterpiece both lyrically and musically. One of the better metal core pieces ever imo.

This is an important topic that Christians should acknowledge and address, but this kind of music simply doesn't work for collective church worship. If you actually think it through, that much should be obvious. But a song like this could instead be a catalyst for discussion among believers--maybe not in a sermon but at least through conversations within and outside church. That's a more realistic role that this song can fulfill.

This hit me right in the feels man, it's crazy how people sacrifice their lives at home and put their lives at risk for our protection and we receive those that have fought for us like trash. Vets are one of the most under appreciated people in this country which is so ass backwards, they should be the most looked up to people around they should be treated like royalty. You don't need to be a super patriot, I know I'm not, but I am a decent human and so are they. Don't just support our troops, Support our vets ✊🏽

Not American, but frankly I don't give a fk about veterans or soldiers and people's obsessiveness with war, I wish people (and especially americans) would stop trying to start wars every chance they get and we would have more peace. Soldiers SHOULD be looked down on, then maybe less people will be willing to throw their lives away like that and we would have fewer wars. In my humble opinion this is far from their heaviest song musically, but it could be their most complete song.. And should be considered a master peice in the rock and it's subgenre world.

Back burner seems a tad more heavy imo.

The guitarist went off on this one.. holy heck.. some of the best riffs I’ve ever heard in this song

+Kevin Corkran I heard it live last week, and they were amazing, you have no idea how they sound live on this song :P

2:21 absolutely one of my favorite breakdowns/riffs of all time. It's just so...heavy. This whole song is excellent, one of ABR's best in my opinion.

I never realized how impactful this song could be. Id never seen the music video today and I'm glad there are people out there that try to help the world rather than hurt it. ABR sings about the importance of life rather than doing drugs, having sex, and "Living life" No they actually tell you how you should live your life!

JB Brubaker, Jake Luhrs, and Matt Greiner are absolute gods among men. Amazing.

9 or 10 years. However many damn years it's been since jake has joined. This is the most consistent band ever. And of course JB and Matt destroy as always.

I forgot how great this song is. That guitar riff at the beginning is just awesome.

The message in this song is just incredibly strong. Such a masterpiece! I'm here in 2020.... and damn right I will still be here in 2030.

4:00-4:47 is what really gets me emotional. Just the lyrics, the vocals, even the instrumentals are all very sad.

I really don't understand: whenever you find a very nice metal song, after some time you find another one that touches you more else. Music ... as addictable as a drug. Thanks for the song. 4:00 - 4:47🥰

That breakdown after the part where Jeremy sings is still the filthiest metalcore breakdown I have ever heard.

Damn glad to hear band that hasn't entirely sold out from their original style, I accept the soft vocals that's what the youngsters want I guess

The drumming during Jeremy's part is fucking gnarly

I get goose bumps every time I listen to/watch this.

My god these guys are good. And their newest album(Phantom Anthem)... Holy lord, I go as far as saying it's their best yet!

I'm not kidding... this brought me to tears. The meaning is so deep.

This should have been the song up for a grammy....
