Good day! I know that my approach is perhaps different from what your teacher might use next semester, but on the matter of what to prepare for research, I would go with preparing a research problem. One of the greatest challenges student researchers encounter is coming up with a good research problem. While you still have some time, brainstorm with your friends and try to come up with plenty of possible research problems. Also, consider the scope of the research your school will allow you to do considering that we are in a pandemic right now. I hope this helps. :)
