@lisamason-lx6bk Exciting to hear about your trip this September! Bad reviews on the hotel? How so? When we went, there was nothing wrong with the hotel - it was absolutely fine, it was clean, hotel rooms comfortable and a good night's sleep each night, staff were friendly and food was really good. Re seaweed, when were these reviews you've seen written? You have to bear in mind the time of year if they're written recently, don't forget, Mauritius are just coming out of their summer, and they have had a couple of Cyclones this summer which have been quite nasty and obviously churns up the sea, bringing in the seaweed. When you go, you're going into their early Spring, and they don't have Cyclones then - I saw very little seaweed in all fairness when we went in August. It certainly wasn't a noticeable problem. And I think as well, it's about managing personal expectations. When people go to Mauritius, it instantly conjures up images of exotic grandeur and luxury. This hotel is a 4* establishment. It's not a 5* Uber luxury hotel like you'd find in Mexico where you'd get everything and then some. Standards are slightly different. And I personally think people are going to this hotel with the 5* grandeur in mind and feeling disappointed with it when it's not what they have imagined it would be. Just familiarise yourself with the product they offer, and manage your expectations accordingly. And formulate your own opinions. Your views and expectations might differ from those reviews too. Make the most of your visit there - go on trips, see the island and what it has to offer - the 5 iles tour offered by Chris, on the beach was amazing - I couldn't recommend it enough - and of course sample the vanilla rum! 😋 Enjoy your trip and love every minute.. @familytravel2137 happy to help! Glad you found it useful. The Pool was ok for me, not super warm but not freezing either..but we stayed mostly on the beach..🌴🌴😁 Happy travels if you get to go!

If you fast forward to about 6:37 you'll see an overview on there. The main Buffet - Indigo has a plethora of breakfast things from freshly made omelettes, made to your liking, fresh fruit, pancakes, waffles, boiled eggs, variety of breads, croissants, pain au chocolats, pastries etc. For lunch and dinner buffets, it's quite curry heavy, so be prepared for that. It's really freshly made and I love curry do it's been brilliant. 😋 along with freshly made rotis, naans pickles etc. They have daily "themed cuisines" from I dian, Asian, French, Mexican etc. The Dolce Vita Italian has a variety of things to choose from but there are some dishes which come at an extra charge - it's clearly laid out on the menu, what's All Inclusive and what's not. La Plage is lovely - it's Mediterranean/Mauritian/Asian Fusion and you get Spring Rolls, soup, curries, fresh fish etc.
