Augsburg is also one of the oldest cities in Germany. Augsburg is Friedensstadt (peace city), Fuggerstadt, UNESCO world heritage with it's worldwide unique water management system, and one of the most famous sons of the city is Bertolt Brecht. It is also worth mentioning that Augsburg is known for its Eiskanal and that canoe championships are held here again and again, as is the 2022 Canoe Slalom World Championships these days. Been there lots of times...this walk brings back familiar memories!..the shops, the cafés..can't understand why you didn't go into the stadtmarkt!!... ..or fiuggerei...an amazing place..love it to bits...
