Learning an instrument from a young age using mostly *rhythmically animated* visual cues to guide your rhythmic muscle memory (Rocksmith) will tend to naturally reveal the need to transcend that form of practice and move on to develop inherent rhythmic, harmonic, and improvisational mastery. You don't see this phenomenon in learning by reading sheet music, because the stable nature of the page is easier for your brain to process the visual stimulus. Kind of like how singing motion-subtitled karaoke is harder than reading a book. Audrey is well aware of this, because she's been really expanding her horizons (beyond Rocksmith) the last couple of years; she has developed amazing chops and versatility, and she's getting better every day. It's great to see her playing live; my personal opinion is that playing together with others frequently is the most essential form of practice. By some bizarre, miraculously twist of fate, she also happens to have a sister Kate who was born with a natural talent I can't even describe. There are no words. The booming growls of David Vincent, the ear-piercing shrieks of Dani Filth, the insane facial theatrics and charisma of Mike Patton... All wrapped up in a cute 8-year-old girl. I just do not understand how she exists. When the two of them reach adulthood, I can only cower in humble reverence to imagine what they could become.

First, she's only 13. Second, her first time on stage. Third, a fixed bridge guitar. She's 16 now, and does have a Floyd Rose equipped guitar. While the game does teach notes vs technique, watch her improvised stuff and you know she's no beginner. Last but not least, her and her sister Kate don't have 300K subs because they are the best on the planet, it's because they are truly having a BALL doing their videos. My 2 cents

She has a lot of talent but she is lacking serious foundational skills of guitar playing that you can't learn by playing Rocksmith. She down picks almost everything and even her little sister has pointed it out on their channel. That's why a lot of her lead work sounds like she's struggling. I'm still a fan, even though I'm a better guitarist. It actually makes me feel good to see people struggling with skills I have taken for granted because I acquired them long ago when I was her age. She will probably be better than me after she's been playing for 20 years like I have.

There is only one explanation for the criticism that this girl gets on KZread. It's pure jealousy. How can I tell? They always insist on inserting themselves into the conversation. They can't just be critical of her technique. Nope, they always have to tell us, "I'm better". Yeah, so what? There probably 100s of thousands of better guitarists in than you in this world. Why is it important to you, to compare apples to oranges? Your story and your progression as a guitarist has absolutely nothing to do with her. She's a 14 year old girl, who lives way out in the country, never took a guitar lesson, doesn't have a musical mentor of any kind and doesn't interact with other musicans and yet she taught herself how to play guitar, by playing a video game and watching KZread videos. So, you have to ask yourself, what went so horribly wrong with your life, that you feel the need to criticize a 14 year old self-taught female metal guitarist, who practices 3 hours a day, because she loves playing guitar? Seriously people, what the f*** is your damage? "She's not that great". Do you think that she doesn't know that she needs to improve? Yeah, no s***, she's not that great, yet. Why the f*** do you think she practices 3 hours per day? Six years ago she couldn't play s*** and now she can play like this, without any help from anyone else. And if you can't say, "good job Audrey", then I think there's something f****** wrong with you.
