I'm in tears watching this. She's always been my favourite female icon and she reminds me of a better time. Her movies always lift my spirits. She was a gift to the world.

What an absolute icon this woman was - style, charm, grace, talent, beauty, modesty and dignity. Little wonder she still sits at the top, or near in most people's lists of favourite movie actresses.

We get so used to stars owning the stage and the spotlight with their swagger, an air of pride, and the pure force of their presence. We forget that a rare few can own the stage, and the spotlight with their humility, and gentle nature and simple grace. Its not complicated what she does here. She reminds us that sincere modesty can be incredibly intoxicating.

She is truly amazing! No wonder that she was a muse for Hubert Givenchy. Audrey had the inborn class, dignity and style, which could not be obtained with any acting coaching. I adore her. Rest in peace, beautiful Lady.

What a beautiful woman not only on the outside but on the inside! A true star,one that we shall never see the like of again!

There are still Hollywood stars who have grace, beauty, and class like Dame Julie Andrews for example. And men who are true gentlemen still exist like Dick Van Dyke, for example.

A time when movie stars had decency, ethics and intelligence. Long gone, I'm afraid.

Oh, just watching the Cecil.B. award, it made me cry. The part in Breakfast at Tiffany's, where she shoved her beloved Cat out in the rain and drove off, you knew she didn't want that, but when she went back calling and crying for him has always reminded me of rejection, unloved. It was just a movie, but for me and even for Audrey in her childhood years of being starved, must have cried inside if not out watching her movie in that scene with Cat.

O, I do love her so. She had dignity and compassion and an inner beauty that went far beyond her movie persona. She had a superb kind of class that is not seen in this world of the Kardashias and the soccerstar wives. It's about beeing decent as well as elegant and beautifu and in a natural way. I am proud to say she was part Dutch and that in the town she lived in during the second world war the square in front of the major theatre is now called the Audrey Hepburn square. I think she would have been very proud of that.

Utterly and effortlessly charming, gracious and a glorious example of humanity. She did more as an ambassador than even her performances on screen. What a glorious creature!

She was just wonderful in her acceptance of this award.

I consider myself beer lucky to have been born before the internet, Facebook and Instagram took over. When there were 7 channels and no cable. It allowed me the opportunity to see some of these great movies and over the years I've come to appreciate what great talent the Golden age of Hollywood contained. Timeless talent, stars with Grace class and respect. How the world needs more of them right now.

Gone are those days with wind, leaving only memories and thanks to youtube for giving unique opportunity to review these movies and immerse ourselves in those memories. All her movies are jewels in the treasury of films.

In China, I saw photos of her everywhere two decades ago. I'm still not sure why. Perhaps it was her petiteness and modesty but everywhere her grace and elegance were admired. She was an exquisite rarity who graced us with her presence with her polish and class despite a hard childhood. How I wish I could have met her if only in a glimpse.

I must admit that I love Audrey!!.- I saw all her movies, read books about her, she is giving me happiness..What a lovely Lady she IS- Forever an angel.

Hollywood reflects the values of socirety. Undoubtedly anything going on their is also happening in NY, New Orleans, Paris, London and Washington DC. I loathe most reality tv but it is no worse than The Dating Game of The Gong Show of an earlier time. Hepburn was one in a million. She had class and elegance like Grace Kelly but survived near starvation and the German occupation as a child. She spent the last year's of her working for UNICEF, an organization that had helped her. There is a reason she remains an icon.

I love this dear woman, and she probably should have been offered as a candidate for sainthood for her completely selfless works for charity and the starving child in the world. I do find it interesting that the only two women she thanks in her speech are Shirley MacLaine and Lillian Gish; both women of deep originality with no seeming connection. Worth an exploration.
