Audioengine A5+ 5 Years Later
I have used the Audioengine A5+ speakers for over 5 years and they have lasted without issue. How many products do you own that you have used for over 5 years that still perform at their best?

BLESS THIS MAN, love seeing a review after ACTUALLY using the product, thank you so much. My mind is finally made with purchasing these over other similar options. my use case is home theatre/living room so I think I would end up wanting the wireless ones, as well as adding the subwoofer down the road. cheers!
Great review, glad to hear you have enjoyed them! I have owned a pair of original A5 in bamboo for 10 years and still enjoy them. Easy recommendation to anyone looking for a great solution for desktop, small/medium room, TV, etc.

Great review. Finally someone who reviewed these speakers after five years, not 5 weeks.. Apparently the sound gets better after 50 hours playtime... Looking forward to when the mailman arrives with mine.. Will be mainly using for my turntable in living room.. Cheers from Down Under!!!!

Time sure does fly huh.5 years later.it been amazing to see the progress through out that time.simple yet modern.I love that in my tech.i think it says a lot about the speaker that it’s still $399.quality.I think the best quote you said in this video is that fact that you actually have been using these speakers for 5 years.I can trust your review compare to someone who only has had it for a week or is sponsored product.overall great review and great video.

It fits mean shoot that these speakers are still priced at $399 when most things would go down in value these remain solid
and im thinking of getting the 5 plus for my tv eventually i kind of wish they would update their line for more modern specs though

I am a long time audiophile, way too much high end gear ( Audio research, cary audio, ...) and speakers to count. Anyway, for my desk system I use these with a 9 inch Sub and it is amazing, no need for me to look elsewhere. Love the system, I had an audio engine sub for a while but had a hum I could not get rid of. Sold it and picked up another sub off of Amazon, super happy for over 3 years. I use KEF 107, AR9, and KEF 104/2 speakers, currently. Headphones are Senn HD800, Hifiman Arya Stealth V3, and Maze 109 Pro.

@@FilmedbyFresh Thanks for the video. In the meantime I've learned that the hum is normal, audioengine had no other choice because a switched-mode power supply wouldn't be able to keep up with the amplifier's power demands.

I bought my A5+ Classic in 2017 for $399. I finally took them out of the box this October 2021. What took me so long right? I've got them paired with a Jamo C910 subwoofer. It's a great match for listening to music and 2.1 movie watching. Very pleased with this setup. I also have a pair of M-Audio BX5 studio reference monitors. While the A5+ are not reference monitors, they sound pretty close to the BX5s but I don't know that I'd mix with them. I agree with you on this, the wireless version would be useless to me as well. I'm always connected to a PC. I would buy the A5+ again. They are well worth the money.

had mine for about five years, just recently noticed one speaker is quieter than the other. Cant seem to remedy it, apparently its the amp, anyone else had this problem? Are there replacement amps?

Which speaker is quieter? My active speaker is slightly quieter than the passive.
What REALLY worries me about Audioengine's lineup is that they're still stuck with aptX-HD for Bluetooth. There's aptX Lossless, there's LE Audio coming and I don't know if or when they'll update them. Feels like there's a lot of things to look forward to and while I know I won't be let down using them over wire, I'd rather I don't get stuck with outdated technologies. Using your phone over BT for music is just too convenient and very practical in day-to-day uses.

@@Benny-tb3ci yeah smh sounds like they misread your question, they are prolly gonna ride these out until they can't anymore. I have owned them for 5 years and the only advancement I have seen is the bluetooth adapter. They are good for what I use them for but those extra features would be nice in 2022

That is the turntable I own. I read a review that they work best with this turntable because there is a preamp inside and also a amp inside these speakers so it saves you from buying a new amp.. Waiting on my speakers to arrive, hopefully end of week

@@666boltz I am not sure about IPODs. I do know that you can connect your lap top to the speaker. Perhaps with the right cable you can. Is your TT Bluetooth capable? Because if it is and if your IPOD is Bluetooth capable you can connect through the TT. Just remember digital recordings are very different than analog. Analog is way better. Good luck. Let me know.

I had these speakers. They were the worst speakers I have ever heard. I read so many great reviews online and I suspect they were paid! I spent a lot more to buy the desktop (Neunmann) studio speakers, subwoofer and a DAC. It is day and night different! One should listen some some real good speakers for reference. These ones are just horrible!

One should buy almost any "Studio Powered" speaker which will sound a lot better than these! However, if you have never heard any good speaker, these may be good enough for you. Ignorance is bliss!
