I got this and combined it with the BBC discovery, some Spitfire LABS, and SAM Free Orchestra and with a few other freebies and filters I can basically recreate any type of Cinematic Sound from Hans Zimmer style to more classical John Williams... all for 99 quid. Unbelievable value.

question about nucleus - I really only want to write classical style (or realistic orchestra) music and don't really need electronic or synthesizer type effects on the instruments. Do you use nucleus for anything other the more synthesized sounds or does it have good realistic orchestra sounds you use and need as well (that you can't get from the other libs you mentioned)?

I got the Nucleus Orchestral Core (full version) as my first paid library for creating orchestral music. I'm really happy with it. I imagine I'll eventually want to get more articulations, but it's a wonderful library to start with.

Sounds nice. Likes for the Nucleus from Audio Imperia. At the beginning we invested in something versatile called Amadeus. Also worth considering if you need more "versatile" sound.

i heard this in your video about percussion. I am. it beginner but now it comes a huge great idea i did not know. I am looking exactly for this, for an extended affordable version of this Project Sam level of quality, e without all the EW zig zag. Imagine: i own all EW vsts and still look for better sketching and fast composing, without sacrificing my compositional techniques and style

Interesting. I was looking at this library a while back. I am wondering what more you get compared to some of the free orchestra libraries such as from Spitfire, Sonivox, VSL, etc.

For me, having the choir was the big extra and just the overall quality of patches. I guess the more dynamic layers and use of round robins for the other sections helps significantly as well!

good question! in my first impression, Audio Imperia looks more reliable, exactly because with this product they show they understand what is truly needed day by day. They also offer art. maps, this is a huge GREEN FLAG. You can start with 99$ and then go on later.

Hi Simon, as always a great video, thanks for that! I have owned Nucleus Lite for a few weeks now. I don't have much to compare it to yet, but I can definitely say that it's 99 Euros well invested here - the library sounds great to my ears. And it's a lot of fun to work with. At the moment I'm working on a few musical sketches for trailer music, and Nucleus Lite really shines here... A question for you: For musical gigs, do you actually use MIDI flags in your templates at the session start? If so, could you perhaps make a video about it - e.g. in combination with BBCSO Discover or Nucleus Lite? That would be very nice and helpful, because I would very much like to create a well-balanced BBCSO Discover/Nucleus Lite template, for example, to hear the overall sound for an authentic-sounding Tutti. Then I would know how the orchestral sound should come across when I compose and mix. :) Anyway, thanks again, and stay healthy Simon! 🙏

Hi Frank, thanks for watching. If I'm working with templates, then yes I would normally have a 'blank' midi region at the beginning of each track, with some mod, expression and main volume data to 'reset' these controls to a default value. But I'll admit a lot of the time, I don't use templates, loading tracks as I go. I can of course make a video on them though!

Hi Simon, thank you very much for your quick reply. Honestly, a short video would be very helpful - if your time allows. I somehow can't escape the feeling that from the outset my orchestral sections don't sound balanced. It would be good to have and hear a basic setting from which I can start. Of course I know that nothing remains static in the course of the composition, that would be extremely boring. 😅 Cheers!
