    The terminology can be an absolute nightmare for audio production beginners. You explained it very well and made it so much less overwhelming. Would love a full blown beginner series!

    Noise gate : to eliminate lower volume sounds in one sound such as noise Chorus Flanger Phaser Tremolo : Spices, fatteners, sweeteners EQ : The King Compressor : for evening volume or making it evenly louder Limiter : similar to compression can be used in mix to fix a dynamic limit, compresses over the limit. Delay, Reverb : make things fuller, fills time and sounds, adds convincing/insisting effect

    How can we see that which effects are used in a particular song or vocals?

  • @MusicSequencing

    @MusicSequencing

    3 жыл бұрын

    This is a fantastic question! For getting started it's probably best to look for tutorials on youtube, maybe you'll get lucky and can find one where the mixing engineer or producer who did the song explains it. There's also some books like, "Recording the Beatles" and magazines/sites like Tape OP where engineers explain what they do. Long term after using these effects for years, you'll be able to have a good idea of what effects were used and a really good exercise is to try to recreate them, I did a video on this for Phil Collins after reading an interview about what they used kzread.info/dash/bejne/imWHm7Sql6muqZM.html

    So uh i came here to find some type of a effect the only way i can describe it is when you wear an airpod and then cover the little hole on the outside then listen to it im tryna know what thats called, find a mp3 converter online and get a song to sound like that for an edit so any advice would help if anyone sees this comment

    Hi buddy! Sorry I'm late getting back to you. I sadly have no airpods so I'm just guessing here, but it's probably something with EQ. Add a high pass filter to remove all of the low end, maybe a low pass filter to remove some high end...then maybe adding some distortion after that to mess up the sound more 🤷‍♂️

    Hi! The DAW (digital audio workstation) in this video was Logic Pro X. Most DAWs (ableton, Fl Studio, Logic, Pro Tools, ect.) come with their own audio effects called plugins. So they all have their own versions of reverbs, gates, EQs distortions ect. There are also analog equivalents as well (like a guitar distortion pedal or an EQ on an old stereo). So in this video I mostly show the Logic version of these effects. But the names (EQ, distortion, flange ect.) are generic and if you look in any DAW you will find most of these effects. Also in this video I use plugins by a few different third party companies, Sound Toys, Fab Filter and Universal Audio. Hope that helps :)

  • @MusicSequencing

    The short honest answer is years of producing and reading manuals and stuff. If you think of it as a giant puzzle, one puzzle piece on its own is difficult to figure out but the more pieces you put together the clearer the picture becomes and you can see how one puzzle piece might relate to the whole picture. Everything is kind of related in someway or another so the more you know about a subject, the easier it gets to learn new things...hope the metaphor makes...just keep on keeping on and you'll get there :)
