    Thanks chris. Making an effort in the engine bay is very rewarding. I’m going to do the same with the 3.2 V6 although less space to work! Thanks for commenting 👍

    Thank you greg. Much appreciated! I do like to keep the cars as stock as possible. Hence why I have retained the plastic. However, I totally respect and admire those shiny engine bays with all the bolt on parts!

    I just acquired a very rare ABT sports line TT Mk1 in Japan. It's in silver and needs a lot of work. Because there were only 11 ever made its worth the project. Enjoyed seeing you cleaning good advice.

    Recently purchased a 2000 Audi Roadster and this is definitely something I will be doing, especially as I need the front bumper off to replace the radiator and fans. (noted you have a video on the bumper removal too which is very thorough). Keep up the great work

    Good transformation! I noticed your bonnet doesn't have any lining, I see that a lot, I wonder if it's only early models like mine that have it? My engine bay isn't too bad on the upper levels - the gearbox and lower engine are coated in oil though as I have a very small leak that gets blasted all over the lower engine bay whenever I go for a drive! Really need to sort that! I use that meguiars stuff too, its fantastic isn't it. If you ever take the lights out you get a great opportunity to clean around that area, it's very difficult to get to otherwise.

  • @andycharger

    @andycharger

    Nice one Ben and thanks for your experiences working on yours! There does not seem to be any evidence of a lining ever being present on the bonnet. I did wonder though as there seems to be places to attach something. I do want to take a look at the lower engine bay. I did a bit of work on it when I changed the oil as I think you can get to that easier that way. Any idea where that leak of yours is coming from?

    @@andycharger No firm idea yet - I am replacing the turbo intake pipe and the PCV hose form the puck to the intake pipe as that has perished, so when all thats out I'll give it a degrease so I can hopefully get a better idea of where it's leaking from
