Nice! I have a stage 3 B9.5 S4 and my wife has a 2019 Q7 Prestige. When the lease ended on the Q7, I tried to convince her to step up to a SQ7 but she wasn't feeling it.

You gotta let her drive it. My wife and I test drove the Q7 and I bought an SQ7 that day. When we went to pick it up and she drove it, she was very excited and liked it more than then Q.

@@Vaguh yeah, she thought it was going to have like more bells and whistles. She didn’t realize it was a performance model, which isn’t really what she’s into. In fact, she probably would’ve been ok with the 2.0L but I said no way. It had to be the 3.0 at a minimum.

Did you do the APR Plus with warranty or just stage 1 91 octane? Also why did you pick APR over IE for the SQ7? I have an SQ8 and have seen good reviews on the IE Stage 1. Just hesitant to void my warranty. What are you getting 0-60 and 1/4 mile with the tune?

At this time I went with APR because it was all that was available and I did not get plus. I also have the IE tune which is great too, I just haven’t had a chance to get it to the dyno. I helped do beta testing on the IE tune and can run the 93 tune so it’s able to push a bit more power for me, plus we have ethanol near by so, I really like that option. 0-60 is about 3.2 and I do t know on the 1/4 mile yet.

Which do you like better for daily driving? APR or IE? I have heard the IE is a bit smoother and more linear and APR can be abrupt with the power delivery. Thoughts? @@Vaguh

Certainly very interesting, given that the SQ7 has a detuned EA825. That check engine light on your SQ7 is a huge red flag, though, Not worth a tune until that is cleared up. Remember even though you can clear those codes Audi still is able to see that in history and deny warranty.

  • @Vaguh

Actually that check engine light was from running on the dyno, cleared up right away under normal driving. As for the tune, depending on which one you go with, the tunes reset the flash counter giving Audi no easy way to flag the car as TD1 as long as you flash back to stock before going into a dealer.

The first time I drove my stage 1 APR tuned car. I almost crash it pulling out a parallel parking spot that I have done a thousand times. The power came so early, I almost didn't turn the wheel fast enough to clear the car in front, so I HOPE you warned your wife that you have tuned her car. :)

@vaguh- thanks for the great videos. I’m about to get APR stage 1 91 on our SQ7, but I was also wondering about the IE tune. Seems like APR is getting a little more power out of stage 1 but I like the idea of the tcu as well. How does the APR tune compare to IE with tcu? Is the SQ7 APR throttle too touchy or does it do a good job of taking away the throttle lag that comes from Audi? Appreciate your feedback.

@@kayjay8134 the IE tune is great! I’ll be doing videos on those coming up. With the mobile tuning which is great and they reset the flash counter when flashing. Drivability is stock feeling in comfort and more fun in dynamic. Use code itspronouncedVAGUH to save 5% on IE website.

Thanks for the response. I don’t know if I’d flash back and forth once tuned and with APRa reputation, I’m leaning towards their tune. I’m towing a camper in the summer and checked with APR, shouldn’t be a problem when driving normal. IE stated their tunes are designed for the track, not sure I want to flash to stock before every camping trip. Any suggestions? Thanks again

@@kayjay8134 if you’re planing to tune once and stick with it, you’ll be happy with either. Both tunes are great and will not have issues with towing, but if you’re already comfortable with APR, go with them and don’t look back.
