All you guys gotta do is save. If you're really serious about buying these types of cars. That's what I'm doing and have been doing for sometime. In another 3 years I'll be able to buy one. I got to drive this car in 2008, so much fun. Very agile and the manual gear box was brilliant. The sound was perfect, not obnoxiously loud but loud enough.

True, but it does not sound better than a Ford Mustang GT or GT350R. Ford's 5.0 is a DOHC engine like the Audi but is a bigger liter and it is N/A. Their 5.2L is a special Flat Plane Crank engine that uses Ford's unique headers to produce the craziest V8 sound ever. Because Flat crank V8's sound like 4cyl engines, but Ford found a way to make it sound incredible.

Or at least do what they used to do and on the R8 model have a v8 and have the R8 V10 Plus package. But just imagine the new R8 with an RS7 engine but beefed up. It would be lighter, sound equally as good for its own reasons, and be cheaper.

Beautiful sounding car, I’d much rather have a manual v8 R8 than an automatic v10! At certain RPMs the tone almost sounds similar to a Japanese v twin motorcycle from a distance and on decel.

True but the V10 is in the R15, whereas the R10 has a more torquey V12 TDI (which the Audi R8 Le Mans Concept and Q7 got in the late 2000s).

Nothing sounds better than a V8, regardless of which rev band. A pure driving machine that actually drives more than it stands at the mechanic workshop. Now VW just have to get these Lambos from crapping out and burning all the time.
