Audi B8 S5 Intake Removal for Carbon Clean

I didn't see a good guide from start to finish on youtube, so I made this.
This is a 2009 Audi S5 with the 4.2 V8 and a manual gearbox.
Here's another great printable resource:

Nice video! My 4.2 with 108K is currently throwing an Intake Control Stuck code which I believe is related. I will be taking this on soon and will be referencing this video for sure.

Looking at that you can leave the fuel injector rail in to do the carbon clean.

You don't have to disassemble the fuel rail/runner setup, it all pulls straight out in one piece.

Toying with the idea of buying a super clean used 08 4.2 manual tranny with 95k on it......Would you say these things are fairly reliable? I had an 08 BMW 750li and it was an absolute piece of garbage. Constant issues and ridiculously expensive to repair. I have some newer german car ptsd at this point. figured I would check with someone that actually owned one.

@@lukefakult6558 Yeah I’ve watched your video a few times now.Did my engine today ready for carbon cleaning tomorrow. It looks like it’s been carbon cleaned before no carbon build up on the value storks just a black film, the base of the values had a bit of carbon build up.Going to clean anyway.Because these have been done before it’s a good chance the injectors have and didn’t what to damage them if they’ve already been cleaned. If they come out easy enough I might have ago at the injectors
