Audi A4 B6/B7 Loose Door Handle Cover Repair
Here is how you fix that loose door handle cover on an 2001-2009 Audi A4 B6 or B7. All four door handles are essentially the same, but this particular one is the driver side front.
Removing the door card and window frame is a little more involved, but it reduces the risk of damaging paint and its a good opportunity to spray some lube into the pivoting mechanism of the handle.
There are plenty of good videos out there of how the handle actually comes out from the door, this is primarily to show up how the cover attaches to the handle.

Thanks so much for this! Mine fell off a while back and the new one was falling off too, didn't realise there was a sliding mechanism to lock it in place. When attached to the car, I found it easiest to use a knife to slide the mechanism though be careful as I nearly sliced my hand.
Making serious work for yourself here.can be done in about 10seconds with lifting up the door flap and sliding in a cut coat hanger.no need to take the door frame apart and remove the whole handle.did mine in seconds not hours like this guy

I had never performed the repair, and it only takes 30 minutes to pull out the window frame, not hours, so maybe an extra hour overall. I figured I would also post the findings to help other visualize what is actually taking place, harder to show on the car. If you watch the whole video, at the end I say you can get to it without having to go to the extend I did. But at least those watching have a better visualization of it.

Junk yard is the cheapest quickest option usually.
it's hard to do it without taking the whole handle out
Awesome i did it in 5mins just pulling hadle up and unlock mechanizm
