Winter always. Don't use all season for winter, that's for mud and light snow, this offroading and ice need snow tires. Or you can get off-road tires for even better experience Summer time, use summer tires

You do not wear the same jacket in winter or summer ......the same with the tires ; all season is a bad joke :))) In the test the Duster is by a mile the winner not only because has better tires ; the high car is an obvios avantage because you're not tuch or get suspended in deep snow on the midle ....; also highes but shorter and lighter car are also a plus !!! Sorry for my bad English :)))

The Duster has a great 4x4 system it is known ! The Quattro system proves it legendary status by keeping up despite all season tires !

I don't know about the audi, but the duster has a 4L. The issue with such tests is often they don't use the correct tires or identical tires

@@cautarepvp2079 Yes, but in heavy snow conditions, lowering the tire pressure allows the tire to keep going instead of sinking and burrowing in the snow. In winter racing rear-wheel drive cars, the pressure is usually no higher than 1.2-1.5 You can see the same effect on all-terrain vehicles - huge wheels with very low pressure.

It's not about the quality of interior leather ; in this ALLROAD test the DUSTER is by a mile a better car !!! Even with winter tires (all seazon are a joke) the havey and lower car that is Audi will be stuck or suspended in deep snow !!!

@@ezb1973 Q3 is also a low city suv for the ladyes but if is propter equipeded for allroad may be it will have a chance to beat the Duster ; but in that video exemple is obvious that the Duster is a better offroad car that that A4 allroad (that is 3 time expencive) The comparation is not so horible because the A4 "ALLROAD" on that extra mega price pretend that it manage well on offroad too !!!

I have same year A4 and two pairs of tires all-season and winter and can tell you all-season tires are no better than summers. A4 with good winter tires is unstoppable only limitation being ground clearance

They sure are better than summer tires, which would be useless in the snow in low temperatures. All season are good for every day driving on asphalt and few inches of snow, but not more than that. Also quality of rubber has a big role. Can't compare cheap all-season with premium Michelin or Continental winter. My Pirelli Scorpion did well on road and on snow, while more narrow Continental winter beat them easy off road.

7,5 лет за рулем ауди данной модели, застряла 1 раз в поле зимой оставил машину на 3-4 часа, когда вернулся она уже лежала на пузе, во всех остальных случаях, отключаешь электронику и дорабатываешь газом - едет везде, просто жалко такую красотку и мозги рулевой рейки сразу под защитой, по лужам не покатаешься особо!

excellent interpretation of the Dacia, even if a4 is disadvantaged by the higher weight and the 4 season tires. You have to try them with the same tires. Anyway great video👏👏

What is important for a good snow driving ability of a car? 1* Good, quality snow tires 2* Ground clearance 3* Locking diff 4* Engine power at least above 150 hp So, tires are the most importantx but even if u got good tires u still wont make it if ur car is low

A fiat panda 4x4 beats a lot of big offroad cars because it is light in Austria everybody wants a Panda, these Cars are awesome. Or look at the VW Kuebel which only has rwd and beats a land Rover in a Test, because the Landy stucked in the mud.... Power is very unimportant for driving offroad. Weight and tires and ability to drive!

@mrmichaelmw I prefer manuel, because you can use your clutch and gears more, rather than a automatic 😋. But if the automatic have a low/high gear ratio and can lock it's diff's, then you can have some more fun with the car 😁👍 it will crawl like a tank, sort of speak..

Nu cred că videoclipul e făcut să pună în lumină proasta pe audi. Automat dusterul va trece mai ușor și cu viteza mai mare, pt că e mai înalt și nu lovește pe dedesubt. Pe autostrada normal că audi va fi mai bun. Un șofer de dustar nu va avea pretenții pe autostradă, iar un șofer de audi nu va avea pretenții pe camp. Și încă ceva: un audi sau orice alta marca la mana a 7, nu va fi o mașină scumpă, ci va fi o mașină de cat a costat ea la ultima achitizie!

Dusterul poate mult mai mult decât ce se vede in video. Îi trebuie un șofer mai hotărât. Am alunecat cu al meu in arătură pe ploaie și l-am scos cu ușurință de acolo. L-am făcut cu noroi până pe acoperiș. A spus lumea că îl mai scot de acolo doar cu tractorul. Salutări din Germania de la un sibian 😊

Normal weather condition here in Finland. 😁 We have little metal spikes in our wintertyres. I think they are called studs in english? I have nokia nordman 7 tyres with studs.

Am A6 allroad 2007 si voi vreti sa imi spuneti mie ca duster-ul ala e masina? puneti sofer care cunoaste audi-ul, puneti cauciucuri pe audi si eventual activati si modul offroad pe audi.

I prefer to drive a 20 year old Audi before I buy a Dacia.

Tampoco es una comparación justa. Ya que se le da ventaja al audi, porque si el Duster abre camino, el Audi también tendría que hacerlo, ya que no es lo mismo abrir camino que pasar por donde ya pisaron, Estoy seguro que si el audi tiene que abrir camino, no llega ni a la mitad de la cuesta.

Pun MT-urile pe WJ si vin sa va filmez din masina din toate unghiurile. Testul normal era vs Q3 sau Q5, ambele cu anvelope identice si presiune identica. De ce faceti comparatii intre mere si pere?

What tires duster have?

I was in Trentino Alto Adige for winter season. Local police had to arrange a rescue team for helping a group a heavy suv trapped by snow. The first helping car arrived on place was a small Panda 4x4 with 1.3 liter diesel engine.

I'd say i was doing better with my old '91 frontera in much deeper snow, with 4mm thread winter tires, never even slipped it 😂😂

I'm not a big Audi fan or anything but try this again but with a same year same tire a4 allroad and you'll see a different result. 2018 A4 Allroad with same tires as the Duster will just undeniably beat it.

Ma bucur ca ai tinut cont de sugestiile noastre si ai adus si un quattro in joc(asteptam si un Subaru acum), dar Audi a avut prea multe dezavantaje cu anvelopele allseason, garda la sol(aici ar fi trebuit sa fie C5 Allroad) si soferul care a protejat-o prea mult si nu a putut sa le compenseze doar prin tractiune. Daca tot vrem sa stim ce loc are Dusterul in lumea 4x4 hai sa facem totul asa cum trebuie.

Se vede ca Audi nu are cauciucuri cu aderenta buna . Sper ca pe Duster nu ati folosit cauciucuri cu tinte . Daca doriti sa vedeti adevaratul allroad trebuia sa il comparati cu un 3 litri quattro de preferat q7 . Oricum felicitari Duster chiar se descurca foarte bine . O masina buna pentru oi sau firme de paza :))))

Foarte corecte concluziile. As puncta suplimentar faptul ca garda la sol a constituit un avantaj pt. Duster pentru ca de foarte multe ori am vazut Audi-ul atingand stratul de zapada, ceea ce duce la o incetinire a urcarii. Oricum, frumos comparativ, corect argumentat...si bravo Duster. Duster-ul are un sistem bun.Dar nu-l poti compara cu quatro. Daca audi-ul avea cauciucuri si un sofer bun.lasa in urma cu mult duster-ul.

Cred că urcau amândouă până la urmă. Cu siguranță ar fi urcat mai ușor audi cu alte anvelope. Am și scris că s-a descurcat foarte bine, având în vedere anvelopele cu care era echipat.

E clar că filmulețul este făcut pentru a promova Duster-ul, șoferul din din Audi știe și el asta :))

Nici quatro nu mai e ce a fost. Cu orice audi model nou quatro ai compara dusterul bate la off road. Quatro nu e un sistem off road, el a fost gandit pt circuit, pe cand la duster e cu totul altceva.

Mai copii mergeți și puneți-vă lantul de la bicicleta ca a căzut :)))) rapoartele de putere nu sunt bune decât de maxim rally :)))))) sistemul de la BMW e gândit pentru circuit mai degrabă... Sa mergi le circuit cu quattro sa îți subvireze și supravireze în același timp. Te căci pe tine

Is this Duster off-the-shelf or did you have to modify the undercarriage, i.e shocks, etc.?

no, just added the aluminium shield for the engine and gearbox and a custom made EGR valve shield.

I overcome more challenging conditions with Renault Broadway :)

Audi a4 it's great👏

I think this is not a serious comparison with an inexperienced driver who does not want to rush the all road with all weather tires, the duster does not open the way, it melts ice which does not seem better for the a4 on icy and wet grass

Your friend is quite good for a first offroad session.

Nu le puneti si pe asfalt cu o sufa intre ele sa vedem cum trage Dusterul pe nenea Audi quattro dupa el ca pe un fulg?? Serios??? Asta e comparativ?? Nu sunt din aceeasi clasa, nu au acrleasi cauciucuri (ca daca avea Audi cauciucuri de teren cu toata garda lui mai joasa, tragea Dusterul dupa el -cu tot cu pragurile rupte in gropi- la deal si printre copaci.) Mai trebuia sa il bata Dusterul in clip si pe viraje si gata imi luam Duster maine.
