The digital signal processing techique for this is called 'cross-correlation'. You may be better off using the programming language python to do it, using np.correlate().

Hi, I am a beginner. I have a problem importing a .aiff file. This is the drum track saved in the "Remixlive" iPhone application (ios 14.4). In the application settings, I chose "save in high quality" which results in saving in the .aiff format (unchecking this option will save in m4a). You don't see it in the app until you open the file. This aiff is Apple's "theoretically" standard lossless format. Everyone knows. However, after importing to the computer (Windows 10PRO), no compatible player can play it, Foobar, WMP and Audacity ??? !!! ??? In Audacity I used "import sound" (in the enclosure options, "all files" and also "WAV, AIFF and other uncompressed). No effect! I mean, the program creates a stereo track but ... there is no sound on it. The same thing happens when you try to import in m4a format from this strange but known application. And I think the bug is hiding somewhere in the save format this app uses ???? Apparently there may be "different versions" of .aiff files (or placed in a "container" aiff ?????) ????? This is evidenced by the inability to play on Windows programs that support the .aiff format. Moreover!!! The file cannot be saved to the iTunes library, which I also have on my computer (so it cannot be converted in its "natural environment" which is the Apple program !!!!) Further. The file cannot be converted, even to mp3, in any program or cloud service I know of. Each time a file is created with the "correct" (???) .mp3 or .m4a extension (also tested), but with a capacity of 0, empty !!! Even Format Factory couldn't convert, doesn't even support it. It's not about a few euros that I lost in this way during micropayments in the application to increase its functionality, but about an irritating problem. Oh, also on the English Audacity forum I did not find a solution despite many topics related to ios import. I have Lame and FFmpeg libraries in Audacity (the latter should probably be able to download m4a ????, but none of that) which is probably unrelated to the topic. Scary file on my google drive. I am also a beginner. Probably know less than anyone here, but have you tried using VLC to convert the file to the appropriate file form? It is worth a try.

Select your selection tool f1 and then select the part you want to cut and press ctrl-x. Or just position your selection and go edit > clip boundaries > split and do this on the second part and then just delete the middle. Hope this helps.
