This Auburn Team, as an AUBURN ALUMNUS, for the first time since being a student in the 80s have I enjoyed any team @ AU of any sport as much as this team...Brilliant, Elite, Beautiful, Amazing, AUsome, Classy and forced me to be a fan of not just AU softball but now an annual viewer of the Women's College World Series...As a former AU baseball player and youth coach of boys, young men in baseball... I had NO idea these young ladies were so talented at this level...Thanks for Posting... PS. GAME 2 OF THAT YEAR, 2016 CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND...OK VS AU when AU was down 7-0 to OK, trailing the series 0-1...to come back and win in extra-innings with a Grand-Slam no less...along with perhaps the most amazing baseball, softball catch ever due to the circumstances robbing OK of a 2-3 run HR earlier was truly the most exciting diamond game ever watched..up there with the Chicago Cubs Game 7 Championship vs the Indians...WDE... (to learn these Coaches, especially the Head Coaches Son abused his privilege, the honor of being able to Coach these young women and to disrespect them as he did was gut-wrenching and destroyed AU softball...One thing in the south to mess with football or basketball players, treat them wrong, etc...but not our ladies...the Myers not only were forced to resign but also to leave AU due to how many people wanted street justice levied against that guy...sorry for the rant...but wanted to put that out there for any who are not familiar and or any men who have the honor to coach young women...treat them all like your daughters or stay far far far away...have no idea if the son ever has been able to coach again but I hope not...asad that team can not have reunions without that cloud...as I said...it destroyed all the momentum AU softball had....they are slowly building it back with responsible, ethical people now...or that we assume are...as we did with them) Regardless, I know the majority of those young ladies are successful in whatever endeavor and path they took...from Casey Cooper going to Medical School to those in the corporate world, those Coaching or performing the most difficult yet under appreciated job in America...being a mother...they all are winners with their journey to & through the 2016 WCWS all the way to Game 3 of the Championship series will forever be cherished by them and all of us in the AU family...Ok had a truly generational pitcher which made the difference and AU came up a little short in Game 3...doesn't matter...they are all champions...what a TEAM!!!
