Then Trump couldn’t visit a 1917 US Marine cemetery in Europe as his hair could have been rained on. (Besides the Marines who died in WWI were losers. Then returning to US he was too busy to go to Arlington on Veterans’ Day! Merci Macron! Nice rendition of the Marseillaise!

I am glad that my 63rd US Infantry Division played its part in the liberation of France, in the second invasion from the South, and that I was a part of it. The French Government did a wonderful thing when it bestowed the Legion of Honor on all those who participated on, over or under the territory of France and its waters between 6 June 1944 and 8 May 1945. You have this award; you just have to apply for the wonderful medal to be given to you.

I served in the 110th Infantry Regiment which took part in the independence of the United States, notably in the battle of Yorktown. Many Americans forget that France took an important part for your existence and I find that a pity, nor even of recognition to the units which walked on American soil and who lost men there.

If you haven't been to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in VA, please take time off to go and see it. It's an amazing experience, day, night, rain, or shine. The change of guards is an unforgettable and deeply moving experience. The dedication and utter perfection of 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment soldiers from nearby Fort Myer is in a class of its own. I highly, highly recommend it. Just don't be a duche and show the utmost respect for this place and the highly trained young men of our beloved US military.

As a french living in the US, when visiting DC, I could not leave without visiting Arlington. The minimum I could do was visit and think about what these men went through to allow us to live freely.

I have been so honored to have Macron and his wife in our country. PROUD

I'm from French's Ardennes, (Givet) and my father (6 years old in Christmas'44), my grandparents...they hosted the US'soldiers during 2 days before they leave to Bastogne. My father told me about your boys. Proud, young but feared. Merci à eux. Toute ma famille tellement reconnaissante.

Actually this is in the USA at the Tomb of the Unknowns. The officer with Macron and alot of the ceremonial soldiers are from the US 3rd Infantry, which guards Washington, and there were ceremonial detachments from the Navy and Marines too. Macron visited Biden to discuss Ukraine and NATO matters. Hopefully the NATO countries will give Ukraine what it needs to finish the war soon and Crimea can be liberated without Putin going bananas and pushing the button!🤪👍🇺🇦🇺🇸🇪🇪🇫🇷

There is a special significance to President Macron's visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This "American soldier, known but to God" died fighting in the fields of France during WWI. He was repatriated after the war as a symbol of all soldiers of all "section, creed, or race" who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Vive la France, and God Bless the USA.

Hommage en ce cimetière au Français, Pierre Charles l’Enfant: l'architecte qui a créé Washington! Nous sommes vraiment dans l'histoire des USA (dont la France détenait 1/3 jusqu'à sous Napoléon) Le plus ancien lieu d'inhumation américain où tant de soldats et de personnalité U.S. sont enterrés. Tout un symbole pour nos liens multi centenaires entre les deux pays qu'il convient de célébrer ici...

I've never had the privilege of going to the cemeteries in France, but I have had the privilege of working with their fantastic, professional, and skilled Navy in a NATO exercise.
