Attention to Detail: Russell Westbrook

Спорт

Russell Westbrook is like no other talent the NBA has seen. His unrelenting intensity, insane athleticism, and always-growing bag of skills and techniques have allowed him to become one of the more impressive guards the league has experienced. Check out how he uses his athleticism so well, not to mention how he has become fantastic even without his athleticism facilitating his play.
How has Russ remained so healthy?: www.byanymeansbball.com/blog/w...

The reason of why this guy is such a beast, isn't just because of his athleticism, but his passion for the game. He's as good as he is because he enjoys the game, something alot of players these days can't do, because of the large paycheck. This man doesn't see basketball as a job, rather as a hobby, like a little kid.

Imagine a player with Russ style offense and Beverly style defense. That would be such a frustrating player to play against, just constant physical bombardment on both ends. I mean guarding WB looks frustrating enough on its own. Being guarded by Beverly looks frustrating on its own. But both??? In the same game? That would be helllllla frustrating, you might foul out lol.

Westbrook is Great Player, but u gotta admit his efficiency is poor. 39 % from the field and 26 % at the 3pt line. Plus a lot turnovers and playing lack luster defense, bcoz he wants to get those extra rebounds just to have the triple double.

You forgot russ's post game, he's developed a fadeaway and face up game the past 3 years now. It has been unstoppable for almost every guard the past years especially last year, he hit a high % of them as well. Just watch how he used it consistently on cp3 and pat beverly the past years, its straight up murder. Even did it on bradley and smart.

The idea of driving deep into the paint to attract defenders is sort of "magnetizing". It's essential to have players who can do that at any position on the floor to distort and mess up the defense, so they can't guard everyone. A simple 2-on-1 fast break does that when run quickly. A drive and kick out does it. A long 3-pt jumper can start it. But, you've gotta be a real threat to score to attract multiple defenders, to be magnetic. And you've got to have teammates who know how to be available for an open shot.
