Attention to Detail: Russell Westbrook
Спорт
Russell Westbrook is like no other talent the NBA has seen. His unrelenting intensity, insane athleticism, and always-growing bag of skills and techniques have allowed him to become one of the more impressive guards the league has experienced. Check out how he uses his athleticism so well, not to mention how he has become fantastic even without his athleticism facilitating his play.
How has Russ remained so healthy?: www.byanymeansbball.com/blog/w...

The reason of why this guy is such a beast, isn't just because of his athleticism, but his passion for the game. He's as good as he is because he enjoys the game, something alot of players these days can't do, because of the large paycheck. This man doesn't see basketball as a job, rather as a hobby, like a little kid.

the legend
Imagine a player with Russ style offense and Beverly style defense. That would be such a frustrating player to play against, just constant physical bombardment on both ends. I mean guarding WB looks frustrating enough on its own. Being guarded by Beverly looks frustrating on its own. But both??? In the same game? That would be helllllla frustrating, you might foul out lol.

@iudexCervello

He's like 33% on the season. Respectively Harden is 35%. Russ has gotten considerably better at the three, and no one said he's a three point threat, just that he can hit them much more consistently
I. Need to know what his offseason in season workouts are because this man NEVER seems to run out of energy i mean seriously. Harden is amazing and plays under control more so yes, but westbrook be in attack mode from opening tip lmao

Westbrook is Great Player, but u gotta admit his efficiency is poor. 39 % from the field and 26 % at the 3pt line. Plus a lot turnovers and playing lack luster defense, bcoz he wants to get those extra rebounds just to have the triple double.
@waynewoods8078

Dennis Poncardas he has the highest usage rate in the NBA so of course he's gonna have TOS. He also plays pretty good defense and has been a rebounding guard since he was drafted.

Dennis Poncardas he shot 42% from the field and 34% from three doe
He's quite athletic and his Euro-step looks good, but pointing out that his finishing is inconsistent is really noticing detail. Good job.
@therealneal3034

not only that, but pointing out WHY it's inconsistent and what to do to increase consistency.
0:29 Assists coming from transition - attention to Big Man 0:43 Russ pushes, which draws extra defenders 1:32 P&R Pushes, forcing Big to cover him, allowing him to dime to Centre 1:55 P&R When driving, defenders then double him, which allows for more assists 2:13 Back to basket at 3 point line Defenders assuming he is going to ISO his man, so they come to help, which allows for more assists 2:27 One handed passes, passes off the bounce 2:42 FINISHING Attacking before the D is in position means they cannot effectively contest his layups 2:58 ...this includes his Eurostep attacks 3:39 Physical finisher - uses off arm whilst pinning ball to hip 4:15 when attacking, if in control is an effective finisher 5:02 when extending passed D, more control & better finishing 5:35 when patient, openings present themselves Patience is important for such a relentless attacker 6:08 ATTACKING 7:40 MOVES Hang hesi into Pullup Jumper 8:40 In & Out from Crossover

this was a very nice and informational video... keep up the good work! 🏀
You forgot russ's post game, he's developed a fadeaway and face up game the past 3 years now. It has been unstoppable for almost every guard the past years especially last year, he hit a high % of them as well. Just watch how he used it consistently on cp3 and pat beverly the past years, its straight up murder. Even did it on bradley and smart.
Nice video of legend in the making!
I've been waiting soooo long for this one
Dam I watch this so many time, a least 50 times I just wanted to play like Westbrook so bad. I dead ass always do that hesitation pull up. Just love how it's looks and feels. I like the video. Really good
attention to detail: Great vids!!!! Can you do one on how to attack the basket?
Tell me why this channel doesn't have a million subscribers like wtf
This is my favorite basketball channel. I've watched damn near every thing on it but the video editors don't know the difference between passed and past and it really just irks me. Not trying to be a prima donna, just constructive. Keep up the good work.

By Any Means Basketball In this video it happens at 4:50. Past refers to time, passed refers to distance or furthering yourself from one point to another. A simple error that is very easy to fix! Again, I don't want to come off as snide or bratty. Just want to help.

Could you do an attention to detail on increasing vertical?

Fola O do West Side training on squats. Maximum effort one day 2, half load and focus on bar speed on day 4 add box jumps and a plyo session and you should be good. Also stretch.
Instead of doing an Attention to Detail once to one player, maybe you should consistently update it throughout the season to see how they've gone through, if there were any changes to their game, etc... I think it'd be a great idea. Great video btw, best basketball channel on KZread man.
These videos all ways help me add things to my game
I'm so glad he did Westbrook, but damn I can't get past how cold the beat is lol
great content!
4:16 In other words, his 1000% attack mode approach doesn't always work
amazing analysis
Can you do Karl Anthony-Towns? He has such a unique play style that would be interesting to get a look into.
Great analysis on Russ' ability to read defenses, people go with the consensus saying 'Russ has terrible BBIQ' yet he leads the NBA in total assists and assists per game. He knows how to find the open man, people.
Thanks so much man, Westbrook is my favourite player and I play a lot like him and you more than nailed how he plays in this vid

It's easy the only thing we can't mimic is his spin move that is nasty is like ninja turtle spinning in a circle for defence I swear they should be a breakdown on that move it's too hard he doesn't usually uses it but when he's uses it it's pretty as hell don't forget his jumper
Love this channel my training is based on your videos I get Great results

Off dribble left handed passes very very tough and underrated. Probably the most impressive thing I saw all video
That crafty forearm bump is the most underrated weapon in an offensive drive. I have all the respect in the game for that and not a full on extension. Sometimes you have to keep a defensive pitbull out of your space.
How old are you? This is definitely a great channel that breaks down the game for both fans and ballers.
FINALLY‼
Dude, you're awesome! Maybe do a video about John Stockton?
Westbrook is prob the most competitive guy in the league now. He puts everything he has into the game. Such an intense player. And absolutely hates losing
I'm surprised this video wasn't done sooner. I thought a Westbrook one existed already lol
hey :) george hill is regarded by both players and analists that he is one of the top defenders in the league. could you be able to break down what and how he does things on the defensive end,please? :)
This video was great thank you. But you said at 7:30 he shoots the pull up from his left hand. From what I see he never shoots with his left. Maybe its some terminology if so can you explain it to me?
0:24 passing 2:43 finishing 6:09 attacking
Make an attention to detail comparing Andrew Winggens and Young Kobe games, because they are both almost alike.
I know the chance is small. But I do want to see a video of Tim hardaway. I think Utep 2 step crossover is so underrated in today's game.
RW is one of the top players I'm enjoying right now! Thanks God enough for the game!
YESSSSSS, FINALLLLLYYY
Yo bro what is the beat or song of this video . It's very tough
can someone tell me the instrumental please it's not in the description

Great vid as always. Not to sound ungrateful but can you do one on KD no matter how you feel about him you can't deny he is an amazing scorer
@nickhd5659
7 жыл бұрын
He already did one on KD
The idea of driving deep into the paint to attract defenders is sort of "magnetizing". It's essential to have players who can do that at any position on the floor to distort and mess up the defense, so they can't guard everyone. A simple 2-on-1 fast break does that when run quickly. A drive and kick out does it. A long 3-pt jumper can start it. But, you've gotta be a real threat to score to attract multiple defenders, to be magnetic. And you've got to have teammates who know how to be available for an open shot.
Great video as always. Thank for your content. The Lebron James video should have a million views!!! Do Anthony Davis next.
