Some photographers think that you should get the shot from the camera not the effects afterwards. Is that what these people are doing they're not using after effects? Whatever you call that? Some people that went to college think I'm no good cuz I didn't so I'm not a photographer I'm not an artist because they're way above me. I don't think they are.

One image I got took weeks to get it's not from a really good camera it's from a Kodak z650 But the lens was good. I was trying to get a picture of Monarch butterflies and my boys and I were camping in the woods. And Daniel who has passed he caught Monarch in his hands. He's said Daddy I caught one. And when he opened his hands I got the shot and it flew away. And people said it's photoshopped but it's not. I believe if I'm feeling good and happy then my pictures look good and happy. I don't think you need a super expensive camera to get a decent image do you? I'd like to see a professional tell the difference between the most expensive cannon in the 90d. I don't think they could am I wrong?

I was the one who submitted my wife holding our newborn baby. The crazy thing about that photo is that we kept the gender a surprise since we had a boy and girl already. We wanted another girl but all the signs pointed to boy. We got in the hospital too late for pain management so she did it all natural and I caught the exact moment she looked down through all the pain and said, it's a girl!

1, 5 and 7 were my favorites. 1 has a story, 5, is a peek into the person's quiet time and 7 has a sense of our desire to lear a universe that is sooo big and full of adventure.

1 - The innocence of the kid - the way he is hiding and the photographer captured the curiosity of the kid in one split moment.

"There were boobs coming up next but I'm here on a rabbit." This is why I'm subscribed. You're too funny Jared, great review.

#5 with the columbs is probably my fav out ALL of them. The light is just perfect for that composition and makes it look almost painterly

No. 5 (woman reading with dog on the steps etc) I think they nailed the colours/tone and it's got context. The framing is spot on. It is the one that stood out for me when you went through the "top 7"

it's a good picture because it's almost like those two cats were discussing some business behind those cars when you found them and the main cat lookin at you like mind your own business!!

I would really like if you had a theme for these episodes. For example landscape, portrait, architecture, etc. That could help to have a better comparison between a "good" and "bad" picture.

i took the pic of the girl at the protest 28:50 , just for context, it wasn’t set up at all, i got the picture on accident and really liked it personally. appreciate the feedback!

Number 6 is my favorite. It has a story. I enjoy world-building and attention to detail in any art form for me: images, fashion, film, poetry- there just needs to be more, or I get bored. but number 6 held my attention the longest.

People complaining that the 'story is missing' behind some of their photos... isn't the photo supposed to tell the story without words? Isn't that sort of the whole point of a good photograph?

I like 5 the most but 6 and 7 also stand out to me. Great selections and suggested edits in this video.

My favorite is the photo of the fox at sunrise. Sure, I may be a little biased because that was an adorable fox, but the colors and composition were gorgeous.

For me, photo 1 was outstanding. I told a story of that child in the setting/world, it told us something about his emotion or feeling in the moment, perhaps being nervous just peeking out from behind the door to have a look. It had a great crop/framing and technically accurate also

5, the girl and dog in stairs... only because you discarded the cats...best for me.

1 for the Story 2 for the Timing 7 for the Effort and Location

They're all good, TOP 3...1. The steps and columns grabs ya, 2. Boy peeking around the door, and 3. Gorilla...Heck, I liked them all!

5 Woman, dog, building (library?). Classic. Looks like everything included and their locations were intentional. Balanced. Looks like it was slowly and deliberately painted. The opposite of a quick snapshot or of a bit of timing luck when doing spray and pray. Many other good photos here, but this is the one that I want to look over for much longer.

My favorite was the one with dog/guy in between the pillars!

I really liked the snowy mountains. My image of the woman JUST made it to the "semi-finals" but then got cut from the list. I can live with that since I see what it was competing against.

I love number 3, it's the one I would most like as a picture on my wall, and it's also a picture anyone could take if they were passing by at that particular time of day, most of the other stunning ones grab a lot points from location or stunning natural occurrences 🤷‍♂️

I like the little boy peaking around the door. I was too late submitting my photo. The one I was going to submit had a watermark and I knew you'd frown at that.

I would like to personally shout out the guy who submitted the pier with the lighthouse. I did some math and the exact photo location was 43.056111°N, 86.249722°W. Likely taken in march when the water levels in lake Michigan are the lowest. I instantly recognized the Grand Haven Lighthouse because I lived only 4 miles from it. What a small world.

Number 5 and 6 are my favourites. I would go with 5 this time.

Question for Jared about lighting pictures for printing. Do you ad light to your pictures if you are going to print them?

I have to go with 4, the magic of the Northern Lights gets me every time. While many of those capture your attention, I feel that the Aurora Borealis is the one where I would find myself in front of as if I was imagining being there. Good job to everyone 👍

All great photos. #7 is maybe my favorite among the top 7. Personally I may have chosen the photo of the dock with the red lighthouse that got a 5 star. Just love how the shot was taken. Almost like a painting.

Number 1 and 7 Definitely the best

6, hands down. It doesn't just draws you in, it also tells a story using colors, lightning, composition....it's just eh best of the 7 for me.
