Attempting to Skimboard Waimea Shorebreak

Blair Conklin, Kai Thompson, and Max Bourne head to Waimea Bay to try their luck at skimboarding Oahu's best shorebreak waves. Skimboarding at Waimea Bay is very challenging because of the crowds and difficult these waves can be to catch. Only a select few skimboarders are able to make it out to these waves and complete the rides on back to shore. Let us know what spot in Hawaii you would like to watch us skimboard next!

As an actual c4 quad who loved to surf and has an 11 y/o boy I would highly recommend against playing in shore pound like this.

The FIRST & ONLY time I saw the skim-board-master-homie eat it - is when his bud aka temp. Cameraman shouted “TELL THOSE GIRLS I SAID HI! “ & he ate it…the girl comment totally stifled the king haha

I lived on Oahu for some years and body surfed Waimea shore break quite a few times, and for there to be waves that is about as mellow as it gets. Too bad it wasn’t the usual gnarly shore pound.

Me too. I remember it well. We mostly surfed. But, on some days, the trades are offensive for surfing. Then it was body surfing time. But.... I learned the hard way. If you go without swim fins, you can't get going fast enough to get down the face and you become part of the lip. Pounded. Or as the locals say....."Lick'ens".

Ehukai beach park early season when most of the sand is still on the beach. Might be too late for that by now. Sandy Beach gets a wrap on the big North and Northeast swells, believe it or not.
