I didn't even notice that but you're so right. Frankly it's an insult to piss.

The fact you have both elf and bat ears on standby is amazing to me 😂 The Oblivion NPC music was a perfect fit 👌 My problem with the main character was that she was madly in love in the first chapter and then by the end of the book she is in love with someone else. Considering how much I liked The Final Strife by by this author, Faebound for me was a letdown. The Final Strife is nothing like this. It was a proper adult fantasy. You might actually like that one. The prophecy by the way, was not the obvious answer that I thought or that the sister thought as she was wrong about her interpretation. There was a hidden royal and a missing person that turns out to have been there the whole time trope too. 🧂

you never know when you might need a bunch of prosthetic ears 😂 I think I did see the secret prisoner guy who I'd assumed was the missing chieftain we only just learned about (I got one puzzle piece and one hole for it to go in so I assume it fit lol). I'm just guessing by the end of the series the sisters end up as the two queens and something something lots of romance 😂 I have some theories about why this book was so bad, I do genuinely think this was an industry cash grab (WHY did it get 3 special editions? even some big name authors don't get even one) and the fact it feels like it was written for tiktok paint-by-numbers style, somehow worse than her debut, I really can't see any other explanation.

@@theBookMageI am hoping the Ending Fire hasn't suffered as a result of her writing this at the same time. I also agree that this probably was a jump on the fae hype train. You also are right about the puzzle piece going straight in the only hole available. Definitely not getting the sequel

It’s disappointing to hear how bad this book seems to be since I had it on my tbr. I mean, I was already on the fence about it because the book was about fae and in my experience, fae books tend to be…not good lol. But I was willing to give it a chance because it has a sapphic love story in it, and as a queer woman, I enjoy reading sapphic love stories and the plot sounded somewhat interesting. Hearing all of this kind of puts me off from the book, maybe I should start trusting my first instinct when it comes to books I might still give it a second chance and actually read it for myself to see if I enjoy it or not, but I’m probably going to check it out from the library instead of spending my money on it

It's weird because a few people on tiktok have called this the fantasy book of the year, and I have to wonder if we read different books 😂 I think if you can enjoy a book just for the aesthetic maybe you might like it? But for me, getting over the dialogue, lack of worldbuilding, etc was just too much. Maybe try and see if there is a sample chapter available anywhere to get a feel for it before buying

@@theBookMageOh I’m definitely someone who likes good dialogue and decent world-building, I like a pretty book cover as much as the next person but the books I read need to have more than “just vibes” for me to enjoy them So, maybe with that in mind I might not read after all. Which is honestly fine, this book, along with one other, were the two books on my tbr that I was the most on the fence about. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for saving me some money lol

Also, whenever tiktok calls any book the “book of the year” that usually tends to be the first red flag. So far, the two books that I had on my tbr that were the “booktok book of the year” turned out to be lackluster and juvenile
