Willkommen folks! Tonight it’s the first in a five part series from Germany, which has been long on the to-do list, so I hope you enjoy it… I took a crew with me this time, so the videos are a little different, but the change isn’t permanent. I know a lot of people out there like the regular one man band style, which will always be a part of what I do…but by way of experimentation and in order to try and capture each video as dynamically as possible, I wanted to give this a try. So feel free to let me know what you think down in the comments. I have to agree, the editing, constant camera jumps, music…just the overall vibe was weird. It felt produced and forced and somehow very Un-Beard.

i have to agree with everyone else. the less edited videos with just time lapse and narration is so much more satisfying to watch

I feel the solo videos gets more authentic connection with the people who are around you while recording. And yes, need the voiceovers. Those are my bedtime stories!

The only thing I miss in this style video, is the voiceover. I like it better when you are giving more context to what is going on both eating, and around you as well.

With a few less jump cuts and the normal voice over this would work! I do prefer the original solo videos way more to be honest. And I got to say that I got super confused when the timer counted down, instead of up as the normal videos 😂

it's basically cannon that he goes to this style at least once a year. I don't think he'll change the format, but it's like the Christmas jingles you know? He's gotta squeeze a cheeky wee holiday with the lads in at some point in the year. But ye the voiceover does make it feel a little more personal. :P

In the one man band style video’s there is a lot more interaction with the waiters and other customers. Often those are my favorite bits.

I can tell you are having fun with your buddies. These videos are great. It feels like just friends hanging out watching their buddy.

I´m from Germany and while enthusiastically watching you travelling around the world, I always wondered if there are comparable challenges in Germany, now, here is my answer. Love your content.

I’m not long after moving from Ireland to over the river in Mainz, it’s a lovely city to see if you’re over in the Frankfurt area for long/ back again!

I’m glad it’s not just me that prefers the ‘normal’ style of video edit. The format is just more personal and engaging. Also super highly quality closeups and sound of destroying large quantities of junk food makes it less palatable than if there’s a bit of distance. Especially on the dirty glass!!

I definitely prefer the solo videos… it’s not that there’s anything wrong with the crew or videos… there is just a hugely different feel and editing to the videos and I find your solo ones much more entertaining 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just to add another datapoint, I really loved the crew videos and the different editing. I wouldn’t want it to replace your standard style, but this video was great and I hope to see more like it. It’d be nice to have a mixture imo.

I like both styles of videos; I like having the mix of the two types, both are fun. I didn’t think you were going to beat this challenge, and there was another close one recently. I like to not read comments until the end so the excitement builds, but you keep knocking these challenges out of the park!

I like your solo videos and edits more. I like you narrating. It makes the videos much more enjoyable to watch.

Finally, the Germany series. I've been waiting for this.

I feel the same. These are very overproduced: editing is way too much, tons of sounds effects, over the top music. It comes across like a more amateur American reality show in how it’s put together. I feel badly, but this style really doesn’t appeal to me. I’ll still watch and support, I just hope this isn’t a more permanent direction for the channel.

I feel the same! I genuinely had this thought while watching this, "BeardMeetsFood is hands-down the best 'eating-challenge' channel on KZread." I like the previous format just as much as this, so I say include your friends and have a good time! Great job as well, Adam, you absolutely destroyed that.

I actually only watched about 4 min. What makes your videos so great is that there isn't a lot of editing and memes. Just chill vibes, tons of food and good banter. But I know the younger viewers (I'm about the same age as Beard himself) need all the bells and whistles to keep paying attention, so you gotta do what you gotta do. Anyways, gonna keep watching the "normal" videos, cause they are great!

I think this video was great. It looks like you really enjoyed the company of friends. And the editing was perfect. 👌

Ive been going through extreme depression since my wife and kids left 8 months ago, when they were leaving i was watching your videos for comfort and i still find everytime i turn on the tv and theres a new beard episode a grin and Yes i needed this, slipping out 😁 I love hearing you talk and joke while you do the challenge, some ppl may complain it slows you down, but why do they think so many ppl return again and again to watch you?.. Your a very good eater, but self admittedly not the best * cough cough, joey jk lmao 😂 But your personality and charm keeps us coming back and helps a lot of us through more troubling times then you understand and its about much more than just eating. It’s great that you’re trying different techniques, good to constantly look to develop, but these videos never feel the same. I’ve never watched because of the food, I don’t watch any other food eating channels, I really enjoy your personality in the videos and when you interact with random people at the venues. I enjoy the bad jokes and comments on your usual voice over, it feels weird without it, it’s like watching friends without the laugh track. But still great job on this challenge!

I miss Germany. Hands down the greatest food EVER. Always 100% fresh and full of flavor. I've never been disappointed. This video alone makes me want to go back at least for a vacation

How long did you grow up there? You might be eligible as a dual citizen but that may not apply to older generations. I‘d ask a consular. Because I am both a legal German (snd by extension EU Citizen) anf American citizen naturalised, as well as both passports and voting rights. That is a privilege not everyone has.
