Watching Andrea do this was a real eye opener for me. I had a husband who could do it all. Thirty years ago he redid our staircase - while I was a work. Took him a couple of days, but he did it alone. How I don't know. I don't think I ever really appreciated how difficult it was for him, until I saw what Andrea (with Dean's help) had to go through. Tonight in my prayers I will thank him for a job well done. Andrea and Dean - you always bring a smile to my face - and all of us need that sometimes. Thanks.

My question is........... Could you guys make a video about all the mold remediation that happened in your house? You guys have shown little clips here and there but I was wondering if you can do a deep dive into absolutely everything that had to get done including all the outside stuff and how it was possible considering how much all of that cost? Like if it was, 'take out a second home mortgage' kind of expensive? I know that's probably very personal but I think it could be helpful for other people out there to know what kind of cost and labor goes into things like that. Plus things like how it was detected in the first place and how it happened? How that inconvenience affected your family and how you coped during that time? How will the mold remediation affect your decision to sell your house? I think it's just a rare and unusual topic that could be a great opportunity to share the experience with others to make it less scary if it happens to one of us. Thank you in advance if you do make a video about it!! Who else would like to see that????

Wow! Great work once again Andrea. I, like you, just end up doing all of the remodel projects in our home myself, including building furniture I could not afford or find that fit my space. However, this is definitely one I would pay someone for, which makes this even more impressive to me. Lowes needs an “Over here, Dean!” aisle app. Congrats on all that geometry! As soon as Andrea said that first spindle was too short I saw why. I think I would have made the same mistake. Love your solution for holding the rail in place screwed to the wood and the rail and triangle templates. I knew Andrea was going to ace it even if by a small chance there was a miscalculation along the way. Clever lady! ❤

Here in Japan we have a small toilet under the staircase 😅 is a good use of space .

When your drill is bogging down like that move it to speed one if you have a speed select on the drill. Especially with a larger drill bit you need to slow down the drill.

Honestly i hated math because i wasn't very good at getting the concept of the different angles and fractions and its a running joke in our house that i am always one or two off. lol i sucked at math big time. I've never used this method on a forstener bit, but with regular bits it works wonders: drill just a little bit straight down and then, with the bit still spinning, slowly move your drill to get the desired angle. You can also make a template piece that you clamp on top and that guides your bit at the correct angle (kinda like a custom pocket whole maker)

The stairs look good, really like the post! Questions - Why don't you invest in a trailer your mini van can tow? Not have to remove and reinstall seats every time you transport materials. Garage - why not finish organizing your garage and setting it up for a work shop? Won't have to bring all the tools out side to the driveway and put them all away each time. Protective safety gear - concerned you don't wear protective safety glasses, wearing flip flops that could trip you up and not having your hair tied back, especially when using the saws. TY
