Oh my Peter! I had a pet possum when I was a girl for a few days. He was in our chicken house. My Dad made realize he needed to be in the wild. I named him opossum o Bolen. 😂😂 my maiden name was Bolen. Lol

I may have replayed the security footage multiple times 😂

They look different because they have no lips but they do so much for us nothing to fear!

And the don't get rabies. But if you have horses they can get into the feed and if the horse eats the 💩 they can die. A friend of mine lost two horses that way.

@@pamelavl2523 yes! If they urinate in hay and the horse eats it the horse can get EPM which in basically an incurable muscular degeneration. Awful!

Possums come into our orchard area to eat some of our apples. They are mean! They will attack. Not my favorite either Peter. They are like large rats!

My husband and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood last week. We were busy talking and I looked down to the sidewalk JUST in time to see a possum about 5 feet away from us! I threw my arm in front of my husband to stop him before I screamed and ran across the street. So gross!

Hi - It's Donna Mack, your friendly bird identifying lady. You were visited by adult chipping sparrows. Fun adventure - maybe not for Peter! Funny timing. Saturday I had to rescue a not-quite-flying-yet "teenage" mockingbird flutter into my garage. I was able to finally catch it (wearing my gardening gloves) and put it back in the tree next to his nest. Mama Mockingbird encouraged it and by the end of the day it was a fully flying young bird. I agree with Peter on the yucky possums!

My older siblings forced me to watch The Birds as a young child when our parents were out once and I have been terrified of birds all my life. This is the funniest video of 2019! I don't know how it didn't go more viral. I'd probably have reacted the same way having been scarred for life by seeing The Birds as a kid . Mary is like some kind of Snow White level bird whisperer to have handled it so well.

Oh my!! Here in Georgia, birds frequently enter Wal-Marts (through the garden center) and building supply stores, and even the local mall! Someone else has already commented, but, possums are an animal to be embraced because they do awesome things for the environment. I’m not scolding at all; just informing. God meticulously planned and created all of creation!!

i love that peter is usually the one taking care of things but when it comes to the classic "man" job of taking care of wildlife problems, peter goes into crisis mode and mary steps up to save the day. I immediately thought of mary saving the snake the other day. Just shows that making up your own roles in the relationship is way better than what ever society tells you. you go mary!

Possums are such good animals though! They're really docile and they don't carry rabbits and they eat thousands of ticks and they're north America's only marsupial!

I’ve replayed Peters scream so many times haha. Birds can be scary though at the Oregon Zoo they have a walkthrough bird exhibit and my dad got bit by one of the birds 😂

I don’t like possums either! One time we had a possum in our backyard and my little dog was trying to hunt it and the possum was way bigger than her! My brother tried to get it with the rake, but it disappeared and then it kept taunting him for a while at his window. LOL xx Chelsey

I think opossums are pretty ugly too BUT they are cool creatures. Did you know they are North America’s only marsupial? They also are immune to most diseases and almost never get rabies. They can eat 5000 ticks in a season. They are also immune to most snake venom! They’re good to have around.

Possums are such heroes!!!! It makes me so sad to hear you call them vile. They're so necessary. They save us from ticks and are harmless. They can't carry rabies. They're wonderful little creatures, and honestly so so sweet. They have wonderful souls. Like look at blossypossom on Instagram! They're just amazing animals.

We had a thrush inside when I was a small kid. It seemed like a huge black bird to me. I had a couple of nightmares about it afterwards and I still can remember that fear... It didn't have a lasting effect, fortunately. When we visited a bird's center I was the first to scream: "Me!", when they asked who wanted to hold an eagle. I needed a grown up to support my arm because the eagle was so huge and so heavy! I loved it!🦅💛 Thank you so much for sharing this story and bringing up childhood memories! 🤗 from Europe!

LAUGHING SO HARD! I can't even tell you how many birds have hit our large picture windows. SO sad. MOST get stunned pretty good but eventually recover and fly away. We've only lost a handful over the past 30+ years...the trick is to keep all the pets away while it's in recovering mode. My mom had house finches when we were growing up and they escaped their cage once....we were all in NAT GEO mode trying to encourage them from flying (pooing) all over the house and into the bathroom for containment so we could get them back into their cage. MEEPS! That was an adventure! LOL! Glad you all survived your Alfred Hitchcock moment. p.s. That movie traumatized me as a kid! LOL!
