I definitely don't think this is a spoiler, so I'll try to explain the "Erwin being sketchy" moment. While Levi was concerned that he might have been killing humans all this time, Erwin was instead happy to have learnt something. His smile just shows what type of a character he is. That he is someone who is less concerned about human lives and more concerned about learning the truth.

We don't need to guess or analyze. Erwin explained it himself why he was smiling. Levi: "why are you smiling???" Erwin: "its nothing....... its just..... now we are one step closer to the truth." And Erwin has been 100% honest. Even lost his arm. Why not believe what he says?

Spoiler!! He was happy cause he was closure to proving his dad's theory.. Since he was the reason his father died it was a really big thing for him.. Even when he died he remembered his father.. This was one of the main motivations for erwin..

But is not like that. Erwin does concernes for human lives, is just he knows that learning that will help human society to live more time and not just die at the hands of titans. Erwin always was worried about other people, even if his main reason was selfish, he is good at heart.

Pretty much Mikasa thought they were going to die there, so she just let it out. That is also why Eren thinks he can just get up and punch the Titan, as if that would do anything. He also thought they were done there, and he just wanted to go out defiantly, then everything turned to the surprise of us all.

Eren fought to save Mikasa just like he did to save Mikasa when she was kidnapped. It explained quite a lot of his motivations for season 4. he do anything to save the people he loves.

I loved Hannes so much. When I read the manga and saw it animated I broke down in my room. I grew up watching Aot. And he died. And even sadder Hannes voice actor died last year of cancer. Rip to them. They made my childhood 💔

Mikasa was expressing her final words, her goodbye to Eren, for him to be always being there for her as they were most certainly going to die. So, she decided to confess in her own way and then die protecting Eren. Eren was traumatized and kinda gave up after seeing hannes die, same way as his mom died. Mikasa tried to save Eren by thanking him. Eren soon realized that Mikasa thinks she is going to die and it changed Eren in that moment and he decided to be there for her and stood up in order to save her. The dialogue and voice acting is simply amazing. Props to Yuki Kaji and Yui Ishikawa ❤️ I just looooooooooooooove this scene. I ship them so much XD

The scene with Eren and Mikasa has much more significance than romance. Eren finally gets to know that Mikasa wasn't looking down on him as someone that needs protection like a small kid, but the opposite. He gets to know that she relies on him emotionally and infact respects him, not just as an equal, she put him on a pedestal. But most importantly, Eren was finally relieved from the constant pressure to prove himself. It was definitely significant progress in their relationship, as between two people than as a love interest Great reaction btw, can't wait to see your minds blown away by S3.

yuki kaji is a voice acting god. His performances are so incredible

im glad it wasn't just us who went "is that his dad?!"

Also, I understand where people come from with the "Mikasa, now isn't the time" but at the same time, look at the situation from their eyes. That time was the only time. Mikasa was injured and couldn't stand, Eren couldn't transform, Irwin was missing an arm, and everyone else was knocked off their horses with barely any trees around for them to use their ODM gear and were being eaten by Titans. Everything looked grim, so Mikasa was accepting that now was the time they all were gonna die because there was nothing anyone could do. So before their death she wanted to confess her feelings because they won't get another chance. No one knew Eren would be able to control the Titans, not even Eren himself. Sure, things worked out in the end but in the moment it was like "we're going to die, but before we do, I need to tell you something". So it's like what would you prefer? Dying in fear and false hope? Or dying in acceptance and comfort? That's kinda what was going through her mind

Hannes is not the best fighter, but its also hard bcs he has no trees/walls nearby to maneuver around.Thats why he struggles so much to kill it.

Sock game strong here! Yeah this was a really tough one with Hannes' death and then watching Eren completely breakdown into hysterical laughter/tears. To be fair to Mikasa, she thought they were going to die so it was then or never to confess her feelings. There were no soldiers coming to help and Eren couldn't transform :(. But yeah Eren totally ducked out of a kiss 😅. Love to hear your guys' theories!!! Would really suck having to wait for another season after being teased with the dude on the monkey at the end like that lol! Onwards to S3!

One of the biggest misconception about this episode is this....people make fun of Mikasa bcoz she try to kiss eren in that situation... First of all if you were in place of Mikasa you are injured your ribs broken and seeing your crush either boy/girl in state of mental breakdown going to die....you can't protect him/her he/she is in no state to do anything....you are in your last moments so the last thing you will do is to confess to your crush if you love him/her truly.....so you can die without regretting that you don't get a chance to express your love in your life

Mikasa's kinda confession was like s way of saying they were gonna they die in that no hope situation but also comforting Eren who was blaming himself for his lack of force. But Eren saying he'd wrap her scarf as many times as she wanted meant there would still be more opportunities for it to happen and so that they would not die there.

Ymir saw the night sky and she saw freedom. Ymir gives it up for her friends reaching the night sky.

There are spoilers in openings, but it's honestly not stuff you really pick up much on when you're just watching through it. It also works as nice foreshadowing because it gives you a bit of a preview with no context. For me, watching the opening's never bothered me and it actively made the watch better. The openings really set the mood to get the episode started.

Man, EVERY time I hear Eren screaming like that in this episode I get all choked up. That is the most convincing scream of pain I've heard in a long time. I applaud that voice actor

Eren's VA Kaji Yuki is one of the best VAs Japan has to offer, the emotions and soul and dedication he pours out into every character he voices is unmatched, once you hear his voice on a character you wouldn't imagine another VA taking over it. His voice literally screams main character that even his VA friends are making fun of him for it.

Major Spoiler about BEAST TITAN - The beast Titan is Zeke Yeager. He was the first son of Grisha Yeager and the smiling Titan was Dina fritz who is Grisha Yeager's first wife from outside the walls. Zeke Yeager was royal blooded Eren Jaeger's step bro.

9:10 yeah Sam is right. In AOT that is the must romantiC thing you will hear.

when watching this episode you're gonna think that eren only controls the titans because simply he's the main character, so people think eh, aot is just like any other anime in which the MC has some hidden powers. but it will all make sense, and that's when people realise that AOT isn't just like any other anime.

Reminds me of a guy who saw a cheater on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. He was another contestant and figured out how the guy was cheating, and just as the cheater was getting asked the last question, the other guy was thinking "don't you dare do X, but also please do X so I know I'm right about you cheating" The idea of some of the titans they killed actually being human beings is horrible, but it's also info they can use to save more lives and figure more stuff out, and that's what makes it important to him.

No, it's just that saving mankind is exactly the same as proving the truth of a dead father. Erwin has lived in the shadow of killing his father all his life, so he broke the wall at all costs to find the truth of the world.

every time i see Berthold reacting to Ymir helping them, my heart breaks... SUGGESTION: when you'll finish AOT, go back, and rewatch this second season. it's worth it

Mikasa letting out all her feelings about Eren there, was her making peace that it was going to be the end. Eren, getting up and turning away from her was him rejecting that outcome. Letting her know that he will continue to wrap that scarf around her. That they will live on. Erwin with that smile was simply him being content that humanity is finally making some progress towards the truth. Remember, up until that point, they completely have no idea where the regular Titans come from, what they want, or why they do what they do.

Mikasa thought they were gonna die at that moment, so she wanted to take the shot to confess. If you guys wondering why Mikasa couldn't fight, is because the titan broke Mikasa's ribs (also, she suffered from the heat that the Colossal Titan made, they did this fight continuesly). Eren remembered her Mom. Mikasa always protected Eren that it hurts his pride sometimes, her mom told him that he should act as a man and lend Mikasa a hand whenever she needs it so Eren choose to punch the titan. +It was the moment Eren realized that Mikasa never had pitied him. He sees himself as someone that needed to protect, and he hated it that's why he is jealous to Mikasa's strength.

Season 3 is gonna be insane

actually hannes did a commendable job, regular titans are supposed to take 8 average soldiers (and that's accounting all of the 3 forces) to kill with odm friendly structures nearby such as giant trees and buildings, wich he doesn't, not only that using the odm's "grappling hook" on a titan is technically the riskiest thing to do, fleeing on foot is supposed to be safer for the regular soldier

To cut Hannes some slack there at the end, we have remember he was fighting the Titan in open field. So he wasn’t able use the ODM gear to it’s fullest potential, ya know? Lol But I’d like to believe that had he fought it in a location with some big trees or houses, then he could’ve killed it relatively easily. lol

Hannes died as his redemption for his "cowardice" at leaving Eren's mother to her death. I mean, any way you look at it, he was a soldier and his duty was to give his heart to protect the civilians but he failed at that. So Hannes' fate is sealed and his story just had to end that way.

It was harder for Hannes to kill the Smiling Titan because they're in an open area.

Eren was unable to transform into Titan at that time, it was because he had not yet fully recovered. Notice how it took Ymir a long time from her last fight. The body had to be fully recovered to 100% to be transformed again. This is not a spoiler, I think you should know why Eren can’t transform and help Hannes. A Titan shifters will be able to transform immediately after their body is injured and still alive. When they transform If they had their arms and legs amputated Or suddenly being bounced off Titan's neck, it won't be able to transform again until the body has recovered to 100%. For real, Istill don't know why Eren quickly recovered his hand from this episode.

This is not a spoiler but to clear your misunderstanding , the guy with the glasses was not eren's dad , you will know more about him in the upcoming seasons and it is "coordinator" not "coordinates" , it is the name of the titan power eren has.

so, reiner calls eren the Coordinate (think coordinator) rather than the power falling to him because he happened to be in the right place at the right time. the name confused me too, but they explain it a little bit more later! idk if this counts as a spoiler or clarification

At least Hannes redeemed himself. He proved his courage and destroyed his guilt. He got to be a porud fighter before being killed. Important for him, even if he was defeated.

Mikasa's "confession" was more about her wanting to tell Eren about everything he's done for her so that he doesn't die thinking he was useless and never achieved anything like he was screaming about in that scene. She thought they were for certain about to die in that scene so she wanted to spend her last moments reassuring him that he wasn't useless so that he wouldn't die having an absolute breakdown thinking he never achieved anything, she wanted him to die with at least some peace of mind.

Just found this channel and I have to say, you are reacting to my favourite anime, them being Attack on Titan, The Promised Neverland and my favourite movie of all time, Your Name.
