@@femaxed2022 Lmao not even close, you understood nothing about Willy's mindset if you really mean that omg. Willy is not supposed to shout every sentences as this dubber does. Episode 5 is a masterpiece from the beggining to the end and really adapts the chapters, not just "animating" it.

Imagine if the first episode of season 4 starts with shots from Eren's attack on Liberio. Bodies and debris scattered everywhere. And Armin narrates the same lines he did at the beginning of the very first episode: "On that day, humanity received a grim reminder. That they lived in fear of the Titans..."

I don’t know if this is what Eren intended to do, but: I think he was looking for confirmation of war from the people over the walls. Notice how his tone changed when the crowd started to cheer for Willy’s speech? I think he realized at that moment, that the entire world was now against them. And thus, is the reason why he said, “Until I destroy my enemies.” Because they just declared war on them. It may also be the reason why he killed the people by trampling over them afterwards, because they to, were now enemies.

That would be the equivalent of reading comments in a anime related video as someone who has just recently started the show. Ideally it shouldn't be a mistake, but as internet users we (should) know better at this point. Because these comment sections are just that cruel.

IMO a deep human voice is more terrifying because you recognise it, a human who gets pushed to the brink would scream like that. More relatable than a screech (and more badass)

My theory is that Kaji Yuuki did the Japanese Scream, and so they thought it best to have English Eren's VA do the same and that was what we got lol. I think the biggest shame about the English dub will always be the large amount of incorrect interpretations of the story.

As someone who has just watched the newest episode. Honestly this is 10x better than the final minute of the actual anime episode. The end of the Tybur's speech in the anime felt SO lacklustre. Where is the emotion and scream of "Declaration Of War...". Really wish you had got the English dub for Tybur Electric! :(

Eren has truly become a complex character, people keep saying that he is doing it because he had no choice but i don't totally agree. i mean, Eren had other possibilities, but the genocide plan is the only one that will allow him to reach his goals: 1.protect paradis island (as said in the end of ch.123) 2.prevent Historia and her children to go through what the Reiss family went through (ch.130) 3. to allow his friends to live long lives (ch.130) 4. to end the hatred (ch.130) 5.for his own freedom (ch.131) These are the 5 goals Eren's current plan is willing to fulfill and anyone can say whatever they want, but there is no other option that would allow Eren to reach these 5 goals other than genocide. the 1st and 3rd points i mentioned were possible even with Armin's plan, but the other 3 points are possible only with the genocide plan. Sure, there are other ways to end the hatred of the world towards eldians but Eren is going to die in 4 years but it's gonna take way more than that and he doesn't want to live his last 4 years in a world full of people who hated him and every eldian. Fulfilling those goals is Eren's dream and he decided that his dream is worth more than the lives of milions of people, dont go describing Eren as some hero because he is not. to quote Eren himself from ch.131 "Reiner, i'm the same as you, a piece of shit...no...way worse than that". Eren thought that Reiner was a piece of shit because of that time where Reiner said "it wasn't about history or environment...I just wanted to do a hero." Reiner basically said that he would've done what he did even if he knew about the true history of the world, that's why Eren said that Reiner was a piece of shit. Sure Eren is committing this genocide for selfless reasons, but it's also for selfish reasons as well. Eren isn't your typical shonen hero who wouldn't mind giving up his life for the "greater good" despite any possible circumstances. Since he was a kid, Eren dreamed of the wide world that awaited him outside of the walls (i'm sure everyone remembers how many times Eren found the strength to keep fighting by thinking about that) only to find out that humanity is still out there. Not only did his dream shatter but he also got his own mind fucked up by future memories. Eren fought and lost so much to go past the walls of paradis, only to discover that there is a far bigger wall awaiting for him: all of humanity outside the walls.

Just got back from episode 5, and I gotta admit, you did it better.

"You were still ignorant children... And all of that was beaten into you by ignorant adults". Those 2 lines have such a deep meaning. The quote "ignorance is bliss" is a quote that's always stuck with me. Ignorance breeds hate, hate breeds destruction, destruction breeds death. That's the story of Attack on Titan.

@@tadjman4059 The build up was just good and the conclusion not even close. Plus, Willy's V.A. was way too shy or maybe he wasn't the good V.A. for him at all. The manga is here far better than the anime, a lot of people waited this chapter adaptation as much as "Warrior", but Mappa served us a bland adaptation. A lot of fanworks out there are superior and more impactful without even being finished or even totally animated (and no, they do not almays use YSBG).

Came back here after today's chapter, because I've finally decided what settled me off the most in chapter five of the anime: the voice of Willy. For a decisive moment as this one, where we should feel the strenght of his declaration, where we should actually realize that it's here where things go down, it was so... calm. His voice and the OST felt so out of place with what was being shown in the actual scene. Thanks for your work, man. This dub is still the most true to what I imagined as I read the manga.

Even after all this time, the tone you set for this scene is 10x more impressionable than the actual dub. I know the original tone is more somber but the tension you set up between Eren and Reiner is so palpable. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this video. Thank you!

I’m here after watching episode 5 but the anime didn’t come closer to it this is absolute master piece

the screaming willy voice like a crazy man out of his logic is very well done. Eren voice too. Spectacular. Maybe just a bit more sharpness and more voice tones will make it more perfect and real, with some different breaths during the dub. Anyway, spectacular.

Major chills from this! Really loved how you brought the dynamic between Reiner and Eren to life! Great work as usual!

I think his voice acting of willy is better then the English va ,the English va was hood but here the "declaration of war" is better

Information is nothing but a tool. To use that tool one would need to be smart and Unpredictable. Sure he wasnt the smartest in s1,2 or 3 but he matured, Learned from his past mistakes and learned from his friends and enemies. He isnt the smarted but he is very smart.
