_"The Annie situation was a while ago."_ *AHA!!* it actually has been only less than 48 hours since Annie was captured. If you recall back to season 2 episode 1, the rest of the 104th (Connie & Sasha, including Reiner & Bertholdt) were not part of the operation against Annie. That's because Erwin still had his suspicions that there were more spies other than the Female Titan around. So if we put the events in order, the operation against Annie happened early in the morning, the arrival of the Beast Titan happened right after, then leading to the battle at Castle Utgard which spanned from night to the next day, and then we have Reiner and Bertholdt transforming at around midday. So the Armored and Colossal Titans have been revealed not 2 days after the capture of Annie, and they don't even know about Annie yet. Crazy right? All of these events and information have been so overwhelming and confusing even for Eren which is why he still had trouble processing when Reiner confessed. Wow we're finally here. Great reaction, and can't wait for the next episodes!!!

Oh my god Gabriel thank you so much for this explanation! Things make a lot more sense now! I always think a lot of time has passed, because we met Titan Annie so long ago, but she was actually only captured recently which I need to remember a bit better! I was definitely feeling like Eren haha, confused, and overwhelmed, and your explanation has helped out massively! Attack on Titan is CRAZY and I love it so much!

Actually, it was 3-4 years. j/k Yeah, anime watchers had to wait that long hahaha Seriously, I never really pieced together the time period of the events that took place. You did a great job keeping track of the events and the time they unfolded. Impressive! So all the events in Season 2 only took place within... oh my god. 😮

That’s why I love this show so much! They can somehow make days last weeks in a matter of 5-10 episodes giving us every little detail.

If u go back to the previous episode, in the scene where Ymir tells everyone to get on her hair, it shows beretold about to bite his hand to transform

You still seem confused about the Reiner jumping out the window situation. Basically the Titan's "grip" on Reiner was so strong, that Reiner thought he had no choise but to jump out the window with the titan in order to protect the others from it. Luckily Connie had a knife to cut the Titan's mouth open. Also the whole Annie situation happend only a day or so before. So literally no time passed to recover from that shock for Eren. And yeah the injuries Mikasa caused them two were not severe enough

I just thought Reiner wasn't thinking straight haha I always forget that not much time has actually passed since the Annie event as to me it was so long ago now! I'll try my best to remember that the Annie situation is still very recent :P

If you watch the old episodes again, you will realise how Annie, Reiner and Bertholdt are always skeptical and kinda acting weird all the time :D You can see in last episode, Bertholdt was about to bite his hand and was ready to transform in an emergency.

omg I just went back and looked at that! That's so cool haha! I wonder how I would have reacted if I caught Bertholdt doing that at the time! I will definitely be rewatching Attack on Titan after season 4 to look at everything differently haha :D

This still holds place as one of my favorite episodes of any show I've ever watched for purely how shocked I was at the time of the big reveal and just how subtlety Reiner brought it up

This was a pretty huge video and there are a lot of comments coming in which I appreciate MASSIVELY, but I am a bit worried I might see a spoiler or two if I scroll down and read them now, so, I will get my mods to check over the comments a few times before I start replying to everyone

I recently decided to show this show to my mum and sister and this was the episode I looked forward to the most as my sister predicted that Reiner and bertholdt were the two titans ever since the female titan first attacked. She also predicted they killed Marco because he overheard something they were talking about. I literally had to walk away from her as I couldn’t believe she had pieces it all together so quickly

I agree. It's fun to rewatch AOT in different perspective. You can see there were some hints that we've never noticed when we still don't know that Reiner, BerTURTLE and Annie were titan shifters.

Funny you mention how Eren's head was steaming before we ever knew he was a titan. Back when the tower was literally falling at Utgard castle, we saw Historia, Reiner, and Bertholdt in frame. Historia was the main focus of the shot, but if you go back, you will see that *Bertholdt was about to bite his hand and transform right then and there*
