Hange in a previous episode where they were experimenting already explained that in order to transform, you can't just injure yourself, but must have an objective along with it. That's why Eren couldn't transform in the tunnel when they experiment, he did not have a clear objective. But for Annie, transforming in the tunnel means she would get stuck in the cramped tunnel. Also, nothing to do with metal.

Depends on how deep underground you are. It's easy to break through some roofs from a basement. But many meters of solid ground is another matter.

She wouldnt go underground not because there is no sunlight, but because there is no space to transform.

JUST TO CLEAR CONFUSION The sun theory is just for the normal titans, annie can transform when it's dark, she just doesnt want to go underground because of space to transform. So it's nothing to do with sunlight. Eren couldn't transform last time because he didnt have an objective. Just to clear confusion.

The spoon has nothing to do with Annie's ring being metal. Eren struggled to reach the spoon, which triggered his Titan arm to come out, to REACH the spoon. And Hange was able to figure it out and said so, Eren not being able to transform in the well, was because he didn't have a CLEAR MOTIVATION to transform. He had to have a clear goal and reason to transform, to be able to transform to a titan. And sunlight has nothing to do with special titans with Annie or Eren. They can transform whether the sun is out or not. She didn't want to go down the tunnel, because it's cramped, and she wouldn't be able or would have decreased mobility to transform in it.

Well let me set something clear: Annie didn't go under ground because of the missing sunlight. The problem is the size. A 14 meter / ~46 feet titan can not fit into the corridor we saw. So a transformation will not he successful. And ;) as I see it the ' pilot ' is also the battery. When the human inside is exhausted / tired the titan looses power. Remember that scene after Eren's titan appeared the first time and fell to the ground after fighting all titans around the Trost HQ. What those titans need is not sunlight ist more 2 cups of coffee and 2 bowl of ramen before going on a mission. ;)

Plus, if they binge-watched the whole show, like you and others have done, that would be no fun for us, as viewers. Binge-watching usually follows itself with a load of mental and emotional exhaustion, especially if some scenes in some episodes are grueling and tragic to see. That's a reason for why most reactors give the show and themselves some space from each other, so as to recharge their batteries and have full awareness for a new episode. I mean, how many reactors have been ridiculed for not paying close enough attention to important details? And when it comes to a show like AoT, important details are easy to miss.
