I think Toki's lack of practice is a legitimate problem though less because he needs to get better at the guitar but if only because it makes him clumsy and prone to performance anxiety when he's on his own. He's a damn fine guitarist but the few times he's had the solo spotlight on stage he ends up panicking and falling apart.

The major difference between a panic attack and a heart attack is a heart attack will cause sharp pain in your arm. I learned this the first time I got heart burn.

Skwisgaar cares for Toki. They just have a rivalry going because Toki has the potential to be as good as him, which is why he purposed gave Toki had guitar lessons and got upset when he learned Toki was getting real lessons. He's scared of Toki surpassing him. Plus, he has an ego being the lead guitarist while Toki is the rhythm guitarist. Which in bands has been known to cause conflict, such as this episode for example where Toki wanted to be lead for once.

Skwisgaar has severe abandonment issues from growing up without a father. He's afraid if Toki ever realizes his true potential, he will surpass and ultimately leave him, which is why he constantly puts Toki down.

"COMES BACKS TO ME GODS DAMMITS! CLEARS!" And suddenly, I want him as my doctor.

This would be the reason why guitarist use those wireless amps.

@@ketanfernandes4094 My two favorite Swissgar Episodes are the one where they go to Klokocon, where they have all the art of him and Toki together and Diversity Klock "Oh My gods, we ams looks like the clan."

Skwisgaar was essentially blessed by a god to be able to play guitar so good, and Toki is just some random kid who can match him. Thing is Toki doesnt actually practice his guitar. I want just one episode centered around Toki training in self discipline and learning how to get better at the guitar to see how good he gets, with it ending in some stupid way like he hits his head and just forgets everything he learned.

I always thought him playing guitar was an coping mechanism to his mother activities and it was so frequent that he became a guitar god.

Toki is actually a Really good guitarist in world of Metalocalypse but he gets stage fright when he is the center of attention like that but here is a good question why wasn't he using a wireless adapter like professionals on stage

Even with his panic attack, one could still say that Toki “killed” it! 😎🤣

I don't think that's what Skwisgaar was worried about, in fact, he propably saw this coming, him being a more empierced performer and croud pleaser.

Considering he was able to pull off Skwisgaar's solos in Thunderhorse when the two switched roles, he's probably as good when there's no pressure on him to pull it off. Just whenever he's in the spotlight his nerves kick in.

I really fell sorry for Toki in this moment, he need to have his moment on the show

Damit almost 3 years past and yet here i am, still waiting for the full song. Brendon Small have pity on us =_=

i think they tried to make him look like Steve Vai/ish type of attire Malmsteen is more "classical" in his dressing like a baron,Satriani and Morello look like they were on their way to a grocery store and found the stage but the way toki is dressed is pretty much exactly what Vai does a lot edit: the solo he started plays similar to pretty much anything Vai too xD

I just realized something, the music that plays after toki fucks up the solo is still the background music for the full version of the solo, just listen to it... it's amazing.

This whole thing could’ve been avoided had he looped the cord through his strap like every other gigging guitarist on earth.

The song just sounds so.... glorious. I was pissed when it wasn't on Dethalbum 3.

David R but that's not actually being better. Even if Toki has the potential to be better, he's not better unless he practices and actually surpasses Swissgar. Everyone is born with different stats, talents, and tendencies. Toki is talented but has a tendency to not be motivated, and that's who he is.

Anyone else think that this starts as a beautiful fucking song? Or are we too metal to admit it?

Watching the whole episode shows Toki is capable of being a great guitarist but also is willing to do anything possible to get the spotlight, such as ruining Skwisgaar's reputation to the point he lost all endorsements and replaced with Toki. But this isn't the first time he's shown this type of behavior, during the episode where Skwisgaar is looking for his father, Toki is already putting himself as the lead guitarist and wants it his way no matter what.

He was going so well and of course shit happened. These types of moments are hard to watch, and in shows like these they happen A. LOT!

Always hilarious and BRUTAL. Didn't they have wireless connections 10 years ago? And where is Toki's guitar tech with his backup guitar or to fix this problem? Oh, and you rub the defibrillator paddles together to spread conductive gel over them, not to whatever he was doing.

If you're referring to any of the music videos and all of the episodes then yes I've seen them all! I do like the season 3 finale especially just with the whole projections into outer space thing. It's fucking awesome! Yet another reason why I'm such a huge fan of the show, music, art direction, etc.
