I build a lot of cages etc... I tack my hardware cloth down with staples... I then cover wire and staples with a 1/4" strips rip off a 2x4 or fence picket... and staple down the strip of wood... this evenly places the hold down on the screen, instead of having the pressure on some staples... hope this helps

just an FYI, The home Depot in Crystal River Florida, (the boondocks) has those exact stainless steel staples in stock and ready to be picked up today.

Thanks for the info! I just checked, and our local Home Depot doesn't stock them, but one 2 hours away does. I wonder if it has to do with being close to the coast and a higher need for stainless steel?
