Just finished my lectures and saw this and I was like: AAAAAHHH!!!! And when I finished watching it I can't wait for Killer Quest where Percy just said his most iconic line in the Lightning Thief: "Jeez... Who else is stupid enough to volunteer for a quest like this?" and enters Annabeth. ICONIC

1:15 has the same vibes as Rachel when she first appears in the series: Percy: *slices sword and realizes she's mortal* Rachel: Gee, good to know I'm not too important to die

I FRIGGIN SCREAMED WHEN I SAW THIS, I KID YOU NOT

This honestly just became my comfort video because of how appreciative and soft everyone is. And how I have front seat on the Miya Twins' brotherly love with each other. Not to mention, Sakusa being Atsumu-deprived and just basically begging to have him back. It's just...great to watch a video where characters appreciate a severely underplayed and overreacted character in Haikyuu (why do people portray fanon Atsumu so badly? It'll be forever be a mystery to me). Because for me, Atsumu si a very complex but simple character with neverending hunger for his passion aka volleyball. Also, I love the fact that in these series, you really try and be more knowledgeable about the musical (using Daishou and certain characters to explain Greek myths, or referencing some points in both the novel, the musical and I think, even the movie [I still believe it's titled "Peter Johnson" and we don't claim that shi-]), the Haikyuu characters themselves (like, actually knowing Atsumu isn't dumb, isn't a troublemaker, a perfectionist and Osamu low-key high-key caring for Atsumu but in his own "not embarrassing" way). It feels refreshing when you see work where the creator genuinely knows what's happening and what they're making haha. Just wanna lay that down here lol. Sorry for the rant.

!! Don't apologize for ranting, this comment made so happy! I'm even whipping out proper punctuation to reply so you know it's serious :p I'll preface this by letting you in on a lil secret that I'm kinda ashamed to admit: I've only seen the first 2 seasons of Haikyuu (way back when they were the only ones out) and have yet to read the manga. So I actually have never seen or read any canon material with Inarizaki or Itachiyama characters (aside from some clips here and there), plus it's been years since I've watched any of the other characters, which... is kinda crazy considering how often I see comments appreciating the way I've written them. Obviously I've done some research as to what they're like, plus picking up bits and pieces from being around the fandom in general, but I mostly just try to avoid fanon. Which seems to be working, to my delight :D As for this video, I'm really glad you like it so much! I feel like I struggle with the more serious songs because I try to balance the seriousness with humour, but I also want to make the reactions somewhat realistic, so hearing that I've done that is a confidence-booster :) Also yeah Daishou was 100% just for me to begin with - I felt like I needed someone to understand what was happening since I surely didn't, even if that someone was written by me LOL. I never expected this series to gain much attention, so my lack of knowledge about Percy Jackson in general intimidates me sometimes, especially when I get comments referencing the books or movies or anything I haven't seen in the musical and I freak out for a second wondering if I missed something important. But everyone so far has seemed pretty forgiving for not knowing, and Daishou has sorta turned into something for the viewers who know as little as I do (plus any other mini info-dumping I include). A part of me wants to read the books, and a part of me doesn't because I know I'll read them and then have so many regrets about this series since I'd actually Know Things hahaha. But working with the musical for so long now has definitely piqued my interest, so definitely one day. So yeah! Comments like these and all the others I get help loads, and I'm really happy that despite my lack of planning and everything, I've still been able to create something enjoyable and sorta-accurate. I've kinda rambled and I don't even know what part of your comment I'm answering anymore, but thank you ☺💙

@@miyachoo3222 I'm glad that when you're making these videos, you specifically had in mind to fanon stereotypes because that's honestly the first step to truly understand a character. You don't have to read and watch every series to be a fan, a creator in the fandom and all of that. And hey, even without that much knowledge about Percy Jackson and Haikyuu, you managed to deliver quite the entertaining characters. Matsukawa and Hanamaki are still the meme loving duo everyone loves - a rare example of a family representation that is loved and accepted by a lot. Kita and the other "mother hen" of the VB teams aren't overbearing and extremely motherly (calling their teammates their child and all that) because that's just..well, awkward. And you even nailed the Miya Twins' relationship because they're really the type to banter and fight but will be each other's greatest supporters. Tsukishima isn't as salty (honestly, I've seen him stopping when someone says stop and that's great. He's salty and shady bur not disrespectful to this seniors, Tsuki actually respected a lot of people but just low-key. He's only ever "hostile" with Kageyama and smug with the Karasuno's Idiot Trio aka Hinata, Nishinoya and Tanaka. And the fact that every VB team in Haikyuu is interactive, exclusive and not some one-dimensional side character is amazing. Like, they have legit personality and not inspired by a literal washed up cardboard is refreshing. You're doing great, I promise. I enjoy watching your videos apart from this series too and you've got me hooked. And I just appreciate how you added Daishou - he's one of my favorite underrated characters. And don't get me started how smooth his rivalry with Kuroo is. Like, one minute they'll be shady as heck then the next, Daishou's genuinely concerned for Kuroo's home life. It's honestly the little things that count for me. And I hope you'll get to read the Percy Jackson books ones day. I may not have read all of them and I may have already forgotten a lot about it cause I was a literal child when I last saw anything related to PJ but it still hold a special place in my childhood.

Big agree with the fanon part! Personally, there are some fanon characterizations I don't mind - Ushijima being a grandpa, Kita and them being the Mom Friends - but definitely not to the extent it's usually portrayed. Like, Ushi knows what emojis are, Hinata isn't innocent just a sweetheart, and Kita and the others don't actually think they're moms, it's more of a joke. That's kinda why I threw in that mock-family thing Aoba had going on in part 9 lol Hell, I know Sakusa isn't a germaphobe but I think it's cool if he's headcanoned as one. The problem lies in the utterly abysmal representations of what mysophobia is like, plus using it as an excuse to turn him into a toxic person. It's why I tend to specify "exaggerated fanon" when I reference my dislike for them As for the Miya twins - I feel like most people who write their brotherly interactions in the fanon way just haven't had a sibling of their own. Me and my brothers aren't very close, not at all like Atsumu and Osamu, but it's easy for me to use my own relationship with them to base the twins off of. The only time I'm thankful to have them around smh (jkjkjk) And Daishou!! I love him (is it weird most of my favourites are ones I've never watched?) and KuroShou is probably my favourite rarepair so I'm v happy to channel that through their rivalry here. sjhdjdjd thank you for the reassurances

@@miyachoo3222 iTS OKAY I LOVED IT AAAAA I love pick a side and I'm biased with Try lately thats why I put them as examples lmao, if ure doing Try as well, for the context and all, it'd look better right before Drive, after My Grand Plan, since they havent reached L.A. yet but in Drive they're already more cheered up and in Try they end up with a little confidence in themselves so it makes so much sense. Just a suggestion if u think on doing them
