    Changes in atmospheric pressure often, but not always, predict the weather in coming days. Falling pressure suggests that a low-pressure zone with wet, stormy weather is moving your way. Rising barometric pressure is often, though not always, a sign that the weather will soon clear and turn fair and sunny. To everybody here, the visual presentation has a big effect on understanding a concept. If something is shown visually, your brain understands it better as you can see the logic and it's easier to memorize by seeing. Of course, teachers also impact the result of learning by not clearing the concepts or students too scared to ask but still, it still isn't completely the teacher's fault.

  • @vpheonix

    @vpheonix

    6 жыл бұрын

    Essentially, what the water is doing is sealing the opening against the cardboard and preventing the air from getting into the bottle. The cardboard cannot fall away from the opening because the force of the external air pressure is greater than the weight of the water inside the bottle.

    I've been thinking, if you put water in a bottle but you leave space for air before sealing the bottle with cardboard and inverting, isn't it that the pressure above the water will be atmospheric too? Then the pressure at the bottom of the water will be the pressure exerted by the water plus atmospheric above it. I wonder how is the atmospheric pressure below the cardboard sufficient to counter the pressures inside the bottle? Can anyone explain this to me? It'll be much appreciated.
