Roman Mythology ప్రకారము భూమిని మొదట Hercules మోస్తూ ఉండేవాడు. Hercules దాన్ని ఎలాగైనా వదిలించుకోవాలని వచ్చే పోయే వారిని అడిగితే ఒక్కరూ ఒప్పుకోలేదు. అపుడు Atlas వస్తే Hercules అతన్ని ఆపి, "నేను ఈ భూమిని కుడి భుజం నుండి ఎడమ భుజానికి మార్చుకుంటాను. కాస్త పట్టుకుంటావా?" అని అడిగాడు. Atlas సరేనని భూమిని తాను ఎత్తుకున్నాడు. Hercules వెంటనే "నేను ఎన్నో శతాబ్దాలు భూమిని మోసినాను. ఇక నువ్వే మోస్తూ ఉండు" అని చెప్పి వెళ్లి పోయాడు. అందుకే మన స్కూల్ మ్యాప్స్ బుక్ కు Atlas అని పేరు వచ్చింది. Atlas Shrugged అంటే Atlas భుజాలను ఒకసారి అదిలించుకున్నాడు అని అర్థం.

A book To be successful it must have matter manner and diction. Matter. -- the subject matter Manner -- mode of presentation Diction--- the power of verbosity If these clubbed together, then literary work is recognised identified and accepted.
